Carbine length gas system ?

A brownells complete upper for the price of a BCA complete upper sans the bcg & ch. It’s worth rolling the dice on to me.

Reviews don't look good. Poor accuracy.

One out of two reviews may not be indicative of the whole, and that reviewer didn’t offer any insight into what troubleshooting they went through (could be loose/unreliable sight system or even poor marksmanship)… That said, Brownells isn’t real clear on who the barrel maker is. They just say “large brand name manufacturer, CMV 4140, and nitride coating,” which could be a handful of different manufacturers - maybe Ballistic Advantage/Aero Precision, maybe Roscoe, may be Palmetto State Armory, maybe Faxon, etc. given the price point…

EDIT: just noticed your points below - all great points. I suppose if it was one of those mainstream manufacturers, it’s likely Brownells would capitalize on the brand recognition…

Lots of variables there and not sufficient sample size for me to totally agree with the accuracy complaint.

But I’m still glad that you put it out there as a potential issue.

Not a bad deal, but would prefer mid-length gas system on 16”. Just personal preference.

I checked with Brownells for more info on the barrels. They are nitride finished 4140 CMV, but were evasive, and would not disclose who made them.

This looks like it’s probably an Aero Precision/Ballistic Advantage build. More than likely it’s good to go for the low to moderate intensity round count shooter.

I disagree. AP uppers have Broken A forge markings. (Anchor Harvey Aluminum) This has the square forge marking used by Brass Aluminum Forging. BA nitride barrels are made from 4150 CMV, or 416 stainless. With no reviews having been posted on these, I think I would hold off on an order.
