New for 2015, after a lull of almost 25 years, IWI US is proud to bring back the world famous Galil ACE family of pistols and rifles to the US commercial/civilian market.

The modernized Galil ACE is based upon the reliable mechanism of the original Galil assault rifle first developed by IMI in the late 1960’s. Drawing inspiration from the legendary Russian AK-47 and the Finnish Valmet RK 62, the IWI Galil ACE has been continuously improved over the last 40+ years, resulting in today’s extremely reliable and highly accurate Galil ACE.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Thanks for the reply. I've also been looking very seriously at the scar 17. I have many rifles, AR15s and AKs. Im really a big fan of my AKs. I have almost 10 of them, most of them Arsenals of VEPRs. I figured this gun might get me into 308 and still satisfy my AK side a little. I really appreciate the detailed reply, Voyager. I think I'm in for one.

Can someone comment to the accuracy of this rifle is 308 vs a similar priced AR10. Trying to get into a good first 308. Thanks for the help.

Mine came in last week and I took it out to 500 yards this weekend ringing steel with standard NATO 147 grain Xm80 Lake City ammo. It's an awesome battle rifle and at least 1800 less than current scar 17 prices (assuming you can find one). I've owned a lot oF AR 10 7.62X51'S including an FN scar 17 and you cannot tell me that rifle is worth 1800+ more than the GALIL ACE. With that extra 1800 buy your self a decent .308 battle optic, 5 .308 PMAGS AND 1200 ROUNSS OF 762*51 AMMO. IF YOU PRACTICE DILIGENTLY YOU WILL BLOW AWAY MOST AVERAGE SCAR SHOOTERS WITH THE EXTRA TRAINING. GOOD TO GO! AND WITH THE RIGHT BATTLE OPTIC U WILL HAVE YOURSELF ONE HELL OF A KICK ASS BATTLE RIFLE....

Prepper Gun Shop IS by FAR THE best online gun store I have bought from. I have bought a number of firearms and accessories from them INCLUDING THE Galil ACE in 7.62x39 and now 7.62x51 and they are simply awesome rifles. I can't say enough about their customer service. The only issue I've had with them is that because they are so popular, I've had too wait online for chat or ON hold on the telephone if I have questions about a particular product. Highly recommended rifle. Even more highly recommended group of fine people at PGS. DR. DAvid

Thought these were like $1700?
Not sure why this got upvotes. Great gun, bad price.

The IWI Galil rifle comes in two different calibers: 7.62x39 and 7.62NATO. The one that is priced around $1700 is the Galil rifle in 7.62x39 (GAR1639) and we have that one listed on our site for $1,709.00 which is the manufacturer's "Minimum Advertised Price."

Our $1,889.00 price on the GAR1651 is the manufacturer's "Minimum Advertised Price" for the Galil rifle in 7.62NATO.

Please let me know if that answers your question!
