Well, they were $9.99/each earlier today. Link shows "Page Not Found" any longer. Maybe they sold out?

I grabbed one from psa with laser for 199$ after rebate. Can't remember if it had free shipping or not. Trigger pull is rediculously heavy. Could b a good or bad thing. Takes some getting used to. Def could throw in pocket without safety. Couldn't see anything being able to make it accidentally going off. I really like the size of it. Was suprised how well it felt in hand for being so small. Only shot few mags so far. Not sure about groups but I had no prob hitting a gallon paint can at about 30' or so. Just one handed. No laser of course. When received battery was about dead. Laser very dim. Got for wife to shoot. Was first gun she has shot and didn't have no prob shooting it. Said recoil was hurting Web of thumb after few mags. Guess she won't b shooting any of my 9's or .45's then if she can't handle that. Guess that's what happens when u have soft hands from working in an office. .308 prob knock her on her a**. Lol. Really great gun for $200. I grabbed the sheilds in 9mm and .45. Really like them to. Ordered xds around same time in 9mm just because the promo pack and all the s&w feel better in the hand. Sites just seemed to go right on target with any effort and just feels better in hand. The safety is almost useless though in bodygaurd. Too small and recessed. It got lil easier after I worked it back and forth 50 times but with that heavy trigger pull don't think u need it. She was going to start to carry but so far just been in safe. Need to get her more comfortable with shooting. I've been shooting all my life so it's nothing to me. Kids shot it and liked it. They usually just shoot s&w m&p 15-22 with iron sites. They do really well with it. Want them to learn to use iron sites before they start using optics. Sorry for long story. Was jusy giving my experience with few of my new toys this month. Put together few ar-15's and finished ar-10 finally know tha u can buy them for cheaper built then building one. I like building them and loading ammo. Not to save any money but so I can b more familiar with my weapons. Tend to buy pstols and tear them down just to polish few areas and to understand everything about it. Do I win a prize for longest post? Lol.

In response to klatuu3:

Yeah just what I thought. Your 3" groups at 7 yards are as much a figment of your imagination as your video production company filming supermodels in Tahiti. You have quite the imagination...

Is the offer for the free additional (3rd) magazine still going? If so do I just add it to the cart then go to checkout? Do i get charged for it during the checkout then refunded the amount or how does it work? I see the magazine listed as "promo" is out of stock but there is a cheaper 6rd magazine listed underneath it that is in stock.

Does this come with a 3rd magazine for free?.... When I go to the site it says 2 magazines. I've purchased 3 bodyguards and all of them came with two magazines included (finger groove and flat butt plate). If it doesn't ship with 3 magazines then Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore has it with the two magazines for $249 with free shipping.

add the gun to your shopping cart and the extra free mag will be added as well.

I love S&W Shields - I have several. This is NOT a mini Shield. The Trigger Pull weight is RIDICULOUSLY heavy & long!! On a good day, expect 8” groups at 7 yards. You won’t get any better - the trigger won't let you.
If you want a very good pocket pistol in .380, buy a Glock 42 or the Ruger LCP Custom – Hands down the Ruger LCP Custom is a much better, more shoot-able, $100 less expensive gun than this POS.
Oh and don’t waste $100 on a Galloway precision trigger kit for this thing hoping to fix it – the guns still sucks – you will just be $100 poorer and still have a POS pistol. Ask me how I know.
This is perhaps the most disappointing gun I have ever purchased.
You have been warned. Don’t buy this gun - it sucks no matter what color they paint it.

True about grouping. Took mine out today for it's maiden voyage. Shot from 5 and 7 yards. 90gr Gold Dots were OK, maybe 4-8" groups but Herter's 95gr ball was literally shooting 12-18" groups at those distances. Also had 8 rounds out of 50 of the Herter’s not fire and required second strike in which they all then fired. I'm sure it was the crap Herter’s ammo.

Great little gun, horrible trigger. But again, you won't even notice in a stress induced situation. Not a fun range gun.

Learn to stage it, which is very easy with this gun, and its quite better.

Even if 8" groups at 7 yards were the best this gun was capable of (which is untrue) this is small gun for CCW. 21 feet would be the extreme distance I would consider self defense range for a pocket .380. Are you shooting squirrels at 7 yards or people at 50?!? Like others have stated the trigger pull is quite common for a 'pocket pistol' from any manufacturer....safety reasons.

You have to practice with it. I shoot my bodyguard as well as my shield every trip to the range. Sometimes I think I shoot it better. The sights need to be painted or they are very hard to pickup. Take up much of the travel, pull smooth after that, and the gun is great. It's a DA gun, of course the trigger is long and firm. Get a striker fire pocket gun with no safety and shoot your nuts off. Seems everything is going that route. This gun is not for everyone, but I would hardly trash it. I like the safety that the trigger and action provides, and love and trust mine to do it's job if I ever need it to.

BTW, where are you getting an LCP Custom for $109? I gotta get a few

The mechanical advantage only allows so much trigger operation adjustment before you give up reliability or safety. Considering this is not a gun someone would buy for range practice or long distance accuracy this is what you get. Built well, great service and does what it is designed for. Spend a bit more and get one with a hammer SA/DA and you might meet your expectations better. Sounds like you just bought the wrong gun.

Why would you buy a carry gun and not practice with it at the range? I have a Sig P238 and a Kimber Micro .380 that I shoot at the range and practice with quite a bit. If you buy one of these S&W Bodyguards, you had better practice with it. The first time I shot one I thought it was either broken or not cocked because the trigger pull was just like I luv AKs said, ridiculous. I have seen several women shoot this and they would all say "somethings wrong, it won't fire". Then you tell them that the trigger is really heavy. So when they do finally get the gun to fire, they completely miss the target at 7 yards away. And this is one with a laser. Now I love S&W, but I would never recommend this gun.

Nonsense. Its trigger pull is modeled after a double-action revolver for safety reasons, since it's often carried in pocket. I'm a 5-year BG380 owner (as well as a 2-yr Shield owner). With average hand strength and some structured practice, you should be able to tighten it up to 3" groups at 7 yards, but even 8" is good enough at combat range. Get the Crimson Trace laser version and you can probably improve on that group, plus have a built-in cat toy.

Please post of video of yourself shooting 3" groups at 7 yards with A S&W Bodyguard .380. I've shot this gun a few times and do not like it one bit. Same with the 5 other people who shot it. It was the worst handgun I have ever shot, and I love S&W. I can't believe people recommend these things.

Sorry but my video production company is tied up doing a Victoria’s Secret model shoot in Tahiti...otherwise I would definitely do a range video of myself. Get real dude! Just because the BG didn’t work for you doesn’t mean no one else can shoot decent groups. Some people actually like the challenge of shooting a variety of triggers, but it sounds like you should stick with single action.
