I’ve had really good luck with my Riley Defence at $529 steel trunion at 1000 rounds going strong no malfunctions.

Had one of the second generation "no cast parts" rifles. The rear Trunnion cracked after 300rnds. You can clearly see it was cast once the chip came off. PSA gave me a 100% refund. Take that as you will.

Did you have the folding stock version? It looks like the folding stock version might have a slightly different rear trunnion but not sure if its better than the non-folding version.

No it was a fixed. The Trunnion cracked where the recoil spring assembly locks into place. It's just poor metallurgy. Wouldn't have made a difference if it was a folder. Got my refund and bought a wasr for 600 used that came with extra furniture and mags.

I have a Gen 2 AK from PSA with over 2000 rounds through it. It is a good gun with no issues to date. I have shot the cheapest 7.62 ammo I can find through it. I would have no problem venting my frustration if I had quality issues with the gun, but mine runs just fine. That being said, I would love it if PSA were to put out a 5.45 gun! Demand would be high, especially for an AK74 pistol!

Hell yes to 5.45 and hell yes to a pistol configuration!

I agree 7.62x39 recoil could feel brutal after some time plus it tends to overheat the hand-guards at least for those rifles with plain wood furniture.

I have purchased an AR-15 upper from PSA and a lower kit. They being very good with shipping stuff and their quality also was as expected.

However I read a few comments in other threads were people were complaining that PSA customer service is ignoring them, and not providing any feedback for warranty requests.

I have never contacted their customer service, so it is hard for me to confirm or deny but it is one thing for me to be concern.

I want to buy an AK-47 rifle and it seems that the only import available is Arsenal for around 1000$ that sold by one only vendor (Atlantic). So there is no much of a choice. There is a few domestic AK options but no matter which one you pick, someone always say that they are trash ...

I'd feel alot better if PSA had used forged trunnions on this version of their rifle but billet should be a big improvement over the original version with a cast trunnion.

PSA doesn’t seem to make very good AKs.... their ARs are ok and work how they should but I hear a lot of bad things about these... don’t have one personally
