Ok
I cleaned it after initial test fire. Tried it on a 17 designs billet lower with white label armory parts kit (best trigger ever). Fit tighter than dog snot. Anyway got it zeroed in like 4 shots. 3 turns left on front sight post and 2 clicks right on rear. I am at 50/200 zero. 5 shot group was 2 moa at 50 yards. Great first rifle idea.
I tried posting this awhile back, but it didnt post. I will piggy back off this past review, which surprisingly is only the first review on a killer deal. Shocking know one else pulled the trigger on this deal.
This was a fantastic purchase with no visible blemishes to be found. I also paired this with an anderson lower and it fit like a surgical glove, no play or wobble and looked great.
Now how it shoots... The above review may be a bit more in depth, but damn this thing shot perfect. Groups were super tight and it ran everything including steel case perfect with no hiccups, what so ever. I dont think the reviewer above won the lottery. PSA just put out, in my opinion, a quality product. The fact that the gas system was mid length was one of the reasons i bought this and it is a very smooth shooter.
I was charged no shipping with this deal and tax was 20$. So total was $320 out the door.
Another huge bonus was i ordered this thursday night at 1145pm, so basically friday morning when they opened the order went through. Friday night it said still processing but the next day the gun was on my doorstep.. before noon on a Saturday. Less than 36 hours from ordering at midnight till it was in my hands.. Cant beat that. It was my first order with PSA. And a week later i bought a slightly nicer "blem" with a stainless steel barrel and mid length gas also. And that too fit perfect with an anderson lower and no apparent blemish anywhere.
If someone is on the fence.. Go for it. This is a winnner and with free shipping and such fast processing, a mid length system.. This is absolutely a deal.
I just received this exact model in Black yesterday. Test fired today after cleaning and lubricating. Went through it with a borescope. The barrel does not look like anything to write home about inside. However it shoots perfect. First 5 shot group was 1" at 50 yards. C158 bolt looks good. It's not a hammer forged chrome lined barrel. But it was around $375 with tax & shipping. I bought it to resell next "crisis" and I will. The absolute lowest grade weapon I have is a ballistic advantage. I used one of those Anderson no logo stripped lowers and a white label armory no MIM parts kit from AIM. Magpul stock from Midway. Cheap buffer at Brownells. And various parts from Brownells and AIM. I think this rifle will last someone a good amount of time. It seems they put this particular example together like professionals. Inside the Barrel? Tool marks. But it shoots. One of the nice things about it is it doesn't say PSA on it anywhere.. no logos or branding. The Magpul handguard fits extremely tight and solid. The matchup between the upper and Anderson lower Is so tight I had trouble taking the pins out without using something. Absolute zero play. Example of one. Known manufacturers Anderson and PSA have low QC and I got a couple winners. You are playing the lottery. I would look into high quality manufacturing such as white label armory (drg manufacturing) if you are financially strapped. They are on sale at AIM. They have qc and no MIM policy.
I bought this exact deal. The "blem" on mine isn't even noticeable. Outstanding upper and shooting a mid length vs a carbine length is actually surprisingly different in a good way. Great deal!
