Got this for the $84.99 free shipping now i see its up five bucks to $89 I had smooth transaction on 1k 9mm fast shipping and rebates in the mail

Placed 2 separate orders. My 1st order arrived with no upc or packaging. Just a plastic bag full of ammo in bubble wrap. I called figuring they would give $20 refund since I could not submit the mail in rebate. Instead they had me email them a picture of how it was shipped and the packing slip and sent out another for free of charge. Said I could then submit the rebate when the replacement arrived (and it would hopefully have the UPC) and I could keep the original ammo because it should have never been sent out like that. My 2nd order and the replacement order came in the box with upc as they should. So I ended up with 1500 rounds for the price of 1000 and was able to submit rebates for both. I'm really impressed by Academy customer service. They were really nice normal sounding people on the phone who cared about the company they work for and its success.

The Customer service on badly packed shipped ammo is great got something similar myself when a box of ammo was busted open and some rounds missing.
. I will continue to shop Academy.com.

Got mine via FedEx today. Arrived from a local Academy (I live about 5-10 mins from one but didn't bother driving down there). Inside the shipping box the ammo was packed in the box pictured and in a heavy duty zip lock bag.

Submitting for the rebate online was a hassle...I had to submit a picture of my UPC, the front and side of the box (in separate photos), and scan a copy of the receipt. My camera is on my phone and my scanner scans to my desktop. The form also asked for a subtotal and a grand total (to not include taxes) with the grand total not being able to be > than the subtotal...what?! My shipping costs would make the form error out. I ended up just putting in $84.99 for both values.

Either way, $20 rebate + $10 cash back from RetailMeNot equaled some big savings.

I didn't want to take any chances after reading some of the stories where users purchased online and just received a bag of ammo in a shipping box with no UPC. I went to our local store and purchased them in person, they had plenty in stock. I picked up 4 of them for family, friends and myself. The rebate forms were given to me at checkout along with a duplicate receipt just in case.

However, I just ended up submitting all the information online. Just snapped a few photos of the receipt, UPC barcode and sides of the boxes and I was done. It's pending verification now.

As others have said, this ammo does not come in 50 round boxes, it's one large ziploc style clear bag which is located inside the "black box". The bag is actually quite durable so that is a plus. Looking forward to getting my $80!

This was an amazing deal, even without the rebate! Thank you gun.deals for the tip!

They are delusional if they say their box doesn't have a UPC code. The UPC label is part of the Black Pack label. I've ordered from 3 different sites and all have come with UPCs. The ammo is boxed by Federal, not Academy, not PSA, not Brownells, or whatever other company that sells it. And of course it's 500 rounds loose. What does the product description say? 500 round box. It doesn't say 10 50rd boxes. And just because it comes in a bag doesn't mean it's returned ammo. You can't return ammo. The bag is actually an upgrade in packaging. Like it much better then it being just in a box.

You're an idiot. There are more than one person saying the same story but we must be lying since we have something invested in this? My 300 rounds of loose .45 came in a heavy duty ziplock in a Academy labeled box, invoice, and bubble wrap only. No "box within a box" and nothing that says federal/blazer (besides the ammo itself) or with a UPC. A UPC isnt the hardest thing to find and we have no reason to lie. I want to redeem my rebate with as much ease as everyone else. Your little mind doesnt comprehend that mistakes happen even for large companies.

RetailMeNot has a $10 cash back offer on purchases made with Academy. After tax, $92 total, minus $10 back and $25 rebate = $57 for 500 rounds for me.

Academy sent this ammo loose in a bag, inside of a regular shipping box. No original packaging and no UPC code included. Thus, you can’t apply for the $20 rebate. Disappointed and won’t be ordering from Academy in the future.

Same story here. Contacted outdoor promotions and they agreed it was odd but told me to submit with plenty of pictures. Its still pending but if I run into more problems I'll contact Academy

That is very odd, mine came in the box that is pictured above, in the product description.

Mine from Academy was lose rounds inside a bag, inside the box shown pictured, and inside a larger box. I got some 40 cal from Brownells and it came the same way. You need to call Academy. They are usually pretty good about stuff I've found.

I agree. It is odd. I’ve checked with everyone else I know who ordered this and theirs came in the original packaging, as pictured above.

No clue why mine showed up loose and in a bag. Was yours in individual 50 round boxes or all together inside the Black Pack box?

I think it’s suppose to be loose rounds in 500 counts inside of the original box as picture shown above. I think that’s what we need because each box of 500 you get $20 rebate by sending them the UPC code cut out. At least that’s how I got all my 5 boxes of 500.

Mine were shipped in a plastic bag, inside the box that is pictured above. That box was placed into another shipping box, which was surrounded by a bunch of bubble wrap packing. They do not come in 50 round count boxes. They are shipped, loose, inside a plastic bag; inside the box pictured above. If they simply came, loose, inside a plastic bag and then placed into a shipping box....then I would venture to say that they may have been a customer return; although I don't think you can return ammo if it has been opened. I would contact Academy to get it rectified.

I was on the Academy sports website the other day. Had some stuff in my cart but never pulled the trigger. I never put my credit card in but somehow they got my card number and a couple charges showed up on my card.

Ordered some of the 223 on 11-20 with original ETA of Nov 23-26. Now 11-27 and FedEx tracking code is not even showing that the shipment has been picked up from Academy yet. Disappointing!

I was still able to get some today. Website was laggy and it took a few tries but surprised it was still working. Won’t leave much cushion to send in the UPC codes .
