The wasrs look good on a manufacturers spec sheet as they come with a chrome lined barrel and a bayonet lug and cleaning rod but they pale in comparison to build quality and fit and finish to basically every other AK on the market.
The chrome lined barrel is really only good for shooting corrosive ammo which any corrosive ammo on the market isn't even cost effective nor is it practical to reload the berdan primer pocketed cases.
The wasrs aren't completely terrible but they are far from great.

Npaps aren't quite as good as the wasr, but leaps and bounds better than both the Ras47 and C39v2. The io inc cannot even compare it is such a big piece of junk.
No reason to spend $800-1000 on the c39v2 when both the npap and wasr will last 10x as long. Now if only wasr would drop to this price
I have always read to stay away from wasr? Is this false? Always read they were problematic, canted sights, etc. For that reason I bought an OPAP when they were around as they were supposed to be the best model to get with the NPAP being second.
Read where? And, when? Old WASR 10s had some issues, but the ones coming into the country in the last couple years have seen much more consistent quality control. You did well buying an O-PAP, but today's N-PAPs are a far cry. Check out AKFiles.com, and watch Youtube videos from Rob Ski and Mr. GunsNGear. You'll find a lot of helpful and current information that will pleasantly surprise you about the WASR, but will give you reservations about the N-PAP.
I believe akfiles.com and other forums. But that was probably 3 or 4 years ago if things have changed.
Prices are getting better, hope to see these below $500 soon.
Hi Dominator Arms, the extra $20 off was only valid on the actual day of "Black Friday" during our "SERVER BUSTER" time period. The Server Buster sales were originally only supposed to last from 6 AM to 10 AM CST but we ended up extending it three times... once to 12 PM noon, then to 5PM, then to midnight.
I guess you could say we were the polar opposite of Bud's Gun Shop... originally we just had 10 N-PAPS and 10 PAP M92 set aside for the sale but released that quantity restriction to meet the desires of our customers. Instead of leaving tons of people without the opportunity to take advantage of our "Server Buster" sale price we also extended the time period it ran for the entire day due to popular demand.
The N-PAP is still on sale for our Black Friday weekend sale at $469.99 which is below our normal price. A few items still remain at the "SERVER BUSTER" special deal, such as the Glock 42, Colt Mustang .380ACP, and the LE Turn-in USED S&W M&P .40S&W is actually a better deal today.
Had to grab one (N - pap 16" barrel) .... cheapest I've seen this rifle in over a year... the extra $20 off yesterday sealed it.... never purchased from Prepper b4.. lets see how this goes... $479 delivered to my FFL

We did get an unprecedented amount of orders so the order processing/shipping time will definitely be a bit slower than our normal standard. We had the notification of this likely order processing/shipping delay running on top of our home page. We expect guns purchased on Black Friday will take approximately 5-7 business days before shipment.

This was my first AR last year and still my favorite by far. I picked up the American Defense QD mount with a holosun RD and the thing is a beast. Really accurate for AK heck pretty accurate for any battle riffle up to 200 yards (mainly 100). The sites are dead on as well. The only annoying thing is not as many aftermarket parts so left it bone stock and picked up anther AK to play with (modify). I paid $560 shipped from buds last year so this seems like a decent deal. Also, mine came with a magpul magazine.
