Hi!
20 years ago did military service sense than have not touch guns . was a sharp shooter , past 2 years have been going to shooting range a few times to find out that my shooting still perfect . Just get a GLOCK for goodness snake! Also, Baratta doesn't want you to know that these take GLOCK 19 clips because theyr'e cheaper so much. Its just a matter of time before Baratta makes a gun that looks like a GLOCK, and we all know how Sig-Souar did with that !

What’s a “Baratta” or a “Sig-Souar”?

I realize you’re an ignorant Glock fanboi, but this is just sad, even for you people.

Once they hit just under $300 I’m in

Also 25-30 years ago all if not most semi auto’s were made of metal no plastic today most are plastic no metal more recoil.

And your point is?

It’s all bullshit. A .40 cal shooting 135 or 155 gr round has less or no more recoil then a 9mm shooting 147 gr. The fbi factored in the female agents and Law Enforcement officers in their studies in the last study they weren’t a factor as now.

We get it. You own a .40 and low .40 prices have you butthurt. It is ok; don't take it personally.

People who made a big investment in .40 S&W can’t help but take it personally that their “magic bullet” has been demonstrated to be anything but by some of the top ballistics scientists on the planet. 9mm is superior simply because the effectiveness is essentially equivalent to .40, but a shooter can carry more rounds in the same space.

Yes sir I do know more than a lot of FBI agents and most local Law Enforcement. I’ve had my weapon out, been in more fire fights and have been wounded more then any one or a dozen FBI agents. Point being is when the FBI went from 9mm to .40 wasn’t there a barrage of tests done to show the .40 was better. It’s all bullshit my friend.

I didn't know that you knew more than the collective FBI and their ballistic studies. My mistake. 9mm rounds have improved substantially since the 'barrage of tests' came out about 25 to 30 years ago....things have changed.

From the Ballistic Research Field Center study, where they compared Glocks shooting 9mm and .40:

"To date, the majority of the study participants have shot more quickly and more accurately with 9mm caliber pistols. The 9mm provides struggling shooters the best chance of success while improving the speed and accuracy of the most skilled shooters."

So no, it is not "all bullshit".

Buy whatever gun/caliber you shoot the best. That is really what matters. For some people, it may be the 40. For most people, however, it will be the 9mm.

Glock 43 is the best .40 made just sayin, and the FBI doesn't even carry it! I like the .40 a lot, but it's just simple math that the tables would be turned if the FBI carried a GLOCK

You get all these people saying “the fbi says 9mm is better than .40 so people run out and buy 9mm’s when they don’t realize it’s shot placement that matters. A 40 will kill and cause great injury just as easily as a 9.

Oh, I realize that shot placement/getting rounds on target is what matters most in a defense scenario. But overwhelmingly, law enforcement agencies are switching to 9mm from 40. I'm pretty sure they know shot placement is important. And that is part of the point---proper shot placement is more likely to happen with a 9mm.

One of the main issues for them is that 40 pistols are tougher to learn to shoot well and they take more range orientation and practice when compared to 9mm. It doesn't help that 40 ammunition is more expensive.

40 caliber is fine. But it isn't the trend that law enforcement or gun buyers in general are going with. There are solid, evidence based reasons for that (see the FBI study on this topic). If in doubt about the market, check out the vast amounts of super cheap deals on 40 cal police trade ins, or the substantially lower prices on new 40 cal guns in general, compared to 9 or 45.

If you love 40 and you shoot that caliber better than others, good for you. I'm happy that you can get some smoking deals on a caliber that isn't very popular any more. That doesn't mean 40 is bad, but there is no denying that it is in substantially less demand now.

You can buy .40 caliber rounds in 135, 155, 165 and
180 gr. I could care less what the FBI and some Law Enforcement agency think.

Then buy away! You don't need their approval, assuming you are legally able to buy firearms.

Still a Beretta Px4 with three fifteen round magazines in forty caliber for $320.00 is a fantastic price. Wait I bet they go to $299.00 soon.

To bad it's not a F or G and wasn't a .40
I'd be all over it.

Great price if you like 40 and don't mind DAO.

Right. Few people want it because of the caliber, right or wrong.. That is why it is cheap. Quality gun though.

This gun is not a DAO. Has a saftey and hammer. Not all type d are the same. Some type ds are DAO but they dont have a saftey.

See below for terminology:
C= Constant Action (pre-cocked light DAO)
D= DAO
F= DA/SA with trigger disabling safety
G= DA/SA with decocking action only

I have a 9mm / G model and a 45 ACP / F model.

I've installed 'D' hammer springs in both. (Reduces trigger pull. OEM part, 10 minute job if you're slow)

DAO?
Nothing wrong with .40, by the way, especially now that all the lemmings have decided it's not cool. You can pick up some great guns for a good price.

Sure, if you don't mind the .40 aspect, it is a deal. Most people (and most of LE, like the FBI and the majority of police departments) have realized that 9mm is a preferable round, all things considered. That is reflected in the price of .40 cal guns these days....heck, you can get a Glock 23 police trade in for under 300 bucks. So, if you prefer 40 to 9mm or 45; have a field day. 40s are definitely cheap.

It isn't a bad caliber, but there is a reason they are really inexpensive. They are only worth what people are willing to pay.

All that being said, this is a slick deal on this Beretta.
