Half these comments with good reviews are probably coming from Classic folks.
No doubt! The one I received has excess rust and pitting. I did not pay for the upgrade thinking how bad could it be? It’s pretty bad but Classic refuses to make it right. Buy at your own risk.
Purchased two via Classic -- neither were hand select and both were in near pristine condition. One of them never appear to have been fired. Could not be happier with the purchase.
I purchased one from Gander Outdoors. It was in good condition and its an easy, fun shooter and would add to any Beretta collection. If you call Gander they will comp the shipping fee. Fortunately I live near a Gander store so no transfer fee.
Beware the condition of these guns. Classic made sure to send freebie perfect guns to all the reviewers. Some are NIB 100% condition, some MIGHT grade at 50% with 30 years of holster wear and pitting and all pulled out of the same box. Even hand pick is only best of five and if they pull five turds out of the box, you’ll get the best of five turds, not necessarily a good one. Don’t bother with hand select and just buy a couple of them. Keep the good one nice, throw the other in the truck.
You are spot on! Bought in May 2020 slide and barrell has more rust and pitting than any buyer would want. Classic refused to send another slide and fell back on the “good” classification to justify it.
This listing (10/4/2019) says "very good to excellent condition ", but when you click on the link, their site says "good to very good".
Purchased a best pick - arrived as promised within a couple of days; much better than I expected for an unbelievable price - would definitely recommend to others.
I'm "gun shy" about Classic myself, but being as AIM was out I decided to roll the dice with Classic and pony up for the hand select option to boot. The piece I got is very nice - I'm pleased, especially with the grips, which are almost unmarred. Couple of VERY tiny scratches on each one, otherwise nice and shiny. Got a little carry wear, but blue is ~95%. Bore was dirty, but it cleaned up bright and shiny with nice sharp rifling. This one is easily VG+.
Buy a lotto ticket and don't go outside if there's lightning, because odds are in your favor! Benocchio must have been at the bar and the new hires picked your pistol from the salted youtube crate.
Read the reviews on Classic’s own website. Story after story of people who paid for hand select and were disappointed. A few of the reviews mention pistols delivered missing small parts like grip screws. $209 is a great price. Now it’s $25 for hand select but the reviews indicate that the money you spend is no guarantee. Unfortunately this seems to be a trend in all their surplus gun reviews.
Got mine today, 2nd order with classic w/ no issues and fast shipping , did not do the hand select option and it came out to $232 shipped, is in great condition and at that price it’s a steal of a deal
Pw arms Redmond wa is stamped on bottom of trigger guard
Can you do us all favor. Please check your serial against beretta database and see if it matches. My does not. I see only number on frame that was probably engraved by PW arms, but could not see any original numbers.

Aim is out of stock. I'm head shy about trying Classic, just hear so many bad things.. DK I just know nothing about. I really would like to have one of these but can't afford to get one that needs to go to a gunsmith to get it to work as it should.
Bought the same gun in May 2020 slide and barrel had too excessive rust and pitting. Classic fell back on the official standard that states “good -very good” includes Rust and pitting. Interesting that all reviews on Youtube do not mention buyers might get rust and pitting under those classifications. Needless to say they would not budge and I am stuck with a rusted and pitted gun. Cosmetically it looks terrible but it shoots good.
From what I hear, DK is decent and grades their stuff appropriately.
Check online reviews for DK. May be it helps
DK Firearms has them for sale also.
Not affiliated with them. Just passing along the information.
I also ordered one through AIM Surplus for about $15 more (shipping included). They are currently out of stock for standard and select grade.
Thanks for the info. Bought one. No tax to NC and shipping included from DK Firearms.
Was going to order one until..... + $20 hand select, Shipping charge jump from $19.97 to $26.73 because of FFL zip code even though it's a few miles away. + $3.00 to insure the package. That $209.99 pistol just jumped to $259.92, excluding FFL fee. Guess I'll be passing.
Still a great deal, this is a classic.
I bought three from Aim yesterday. The shipping for all three from Ohio to Georgia was less than $20.
AIM is ok retailer. I would give them my money over classic any day. Sent order to them and will report when this thing arrive. Please share your experience too.
Do not buy from classic. Got mine paid $249 +all the other fees with FFL total was over $300 and the slide, and barrel, had rust and pitting. Asked Classic to send another slide but they refused saying that the rust and pitting fell under the “good” classification. Shipping took longer than expected.
Got mine today shipped from Aim Surplus. They have a good customer service in regard of dealing with FFL paperwork. Aim contacted my FFL and asked them for necessary papers.
I took this gun to a range and shot just 20 rounds. Did not have time to clean and oil it yet. So I decided to not push for more before cleaning.
Overall it looks like a good but not excellent condition. Bore is 100% clean and rifling is strong. Gun is accurate enough to hit head on silhouette target consistently at 5 yards.
However holster wear is well visible and I found some traces of rust on magazine and on lower receiver parts. It is cleanable but requires some work. Also there is a dust inside but no mold. It looks better in person than on photos.
Overall I got impression that gun was carried a lot but shot very little. I would definitely recommend it for a person who likes Berettas and wants to have a smaller version of 92 as they look very similar.
Plus it never clear from what they say if item is good or not. They say EVERYTHING is perfect no matter is it a junk or really a good stuff. They pump rebranded IO polish AK like it is something new. You never know what you buy from them. They definitely sell good stuff too but no way you can figure out what is what by the way how they advertise.
Check Aimsurplus.com, they had some also. Good luck.
Took a shot on this one and while the shipping took a while during the virus sales craze, the one I got that was not hand selected looked almost exactly like the one in the picture. I’m sure it’s a coin flip on what you get but was some of the best money I’ve spent on a gun.
