I love my 92A1, but this way too much. $499.99 from Shoot Straight with 3 17 round magazines.

Found this from gunprime much cheaper

Currently $678 on gun prime for this model. The 13 round model is at $599 at gun prime. I'd love to snag it cheaper.

Does anyone offer the same recoil unit aftermarket ?

Inflated price and I haven't cared for this company having dealt with them in the past

Considering what it's direct competition costs, Sig, CZ etc, this is a good price. It's not just a railed 92fs. It has dovetailed front and rear sights (92fs only has rear) and has a factory installed recoil buffer. The rail is also better than the M9A1 which is what's pictured here. What's really over priced is Glock 19x/Gen5's. 92A1 is my go to home defense and when concealed doesn't matter.

Other pistols already have easily changeable sights. The front sight machined into the slide is leftover from the 1970s when the 92 was developed; being able to change sights isn't a feature to pay extra for. It is really Beretta catching up to everyone else. Recoil buffer? For an all metal 9mm? Also not noteworthy.

This is severely overpriced...and this is coming from someone that likes Berettas and owns 2 of them.

The point being it's not just another 92fs. $585 for this pistol when cheap to mfg. plastic framed guns cost as much or more.... well it's good we all have the opportunity to spend as we want. I'm fully aware of the development of Beretta pistols. I have examples of a lot of them and I'll take one any day over poly striker fired pistols I have IF I had to choose. Now lets look at what Sig P226 and many 1911's cost....

For an all metal pistol, the 92 series is king at that $450 price point. But when you add $100+ to the cost you start having to compete with others in that price range. There is a reason the 92A1 wasn't a big hit. Plenty of 1911s and Sigs in the $500s if you are patient. Also no need to pretend those are the only two competitors to the 92 series.

Ugh. Nobody is pretending those are the only two competitors! Who has the time to sit here and rattle off every one of them! What's happened is the 92fs pistols have dropped in price faster than the railed versions and it's probably due to that one option. If things continue how they are I imagine many will drop further in price. I'd love to find a P226R, MK25, a Colt 1911 or the like for $585. Show me one and I'll buy it. There's a reason most pistols this style aren't such a big hit. People are crazed over simple plastic framed striker pistols. I see many newer/younger people bashing 1911's, Sigs, Berettas.... pretty much everything they probably have little or no experience with. But again, you think it's "severely" overpriced pass it buy. Please respond when you find the comparable SIG for this price. I'd love to get one.

You are limiting yourself to the comparisons you mentioned, not the market. There are plenty of guns out there at that price point. The notion that a Sig or a Colt 1911 are more expensive therefore the Beretta is a better value doesn't even make sense.

$100+ extra for a 92FS with a rail?

No thanks.
