Why would anyone spend over $3,500 for this?
The same reason why some people like nice cars/trucks. You could buy a Tacoma cheap but why drive that when I can have a Denali. You could buy a Keltec but why do that when you can have a Barrett. Some people appreciate quality guns, I don't think many people on this site do since all the comments are left on shitty weapons and really shitty ammo.
A cheap tacoma haha that’s a good one. You can spend 40k on a new one. Base model running 25k. People buy them because they think it will make them a better shooter. And some people just like nice things and relate that with name recognition and no research.
They do make a nice product, I do not own a Barrett but if you do your homework you can have a similar rifle built to your exact specs for near the same price. They are like trijicon, people want and will pay for something they have seen used by the military.
Strong money for a measly .308.
There are a lot of alternatives that will leave you with enough money to buy a quality optic.
