Description

FMK® Sniper 9C1 G2 FAT 9mm Semi-automatic Pistol

It's not fat…it's FAT. As in, the Fast Action Trigger system, which makes for a quick, short trigger pull with no magazine safety to slow you down in self-defense scenarios. It's one of the finest triggers available in a pistol in this price range, but it's only a part of what makes the Sniper such a sweet shooter.

It features a 4" stainless barrel that sits low in the frame, which helps reduce muzzle flip since recoil energy is directed back, not up. To deal with the little recoil that remains, FMK has outfitted the Pistol with a unique rubberized backstrap on the grip. This backstrap not only effectively reduces felt recoil, it also hugs and grips the palm of the shooting hand to provide positive traction. The result is a grip that molds to you.

Well its been 5 months since I commented on these pistols. Ive probably put another 300-400 rounds thru mine without any issues related to the gun itself. I have noticed one thing and it became apparent when my wife was shooting it.
These pistols hate, and I mean hate to be limp wristed! Any sort of limp wristing or weak grip they will give you issues cycling and going into full battery. I myself had no problems as I am well trained and experienced. However any new, nervous, light gripped shooter will have these issues until resolved with comfort and or training.
There is talk about changing out to glock springs to help and also lots of "break in" time as well. Its your choice on which solution works best for you or if its something you even want to work through. I say for the price, these are still great pistols. This and the Taurus PT111 G2 9mm are the two best sub $250 pistols available in my opinion. I love the pt111 because it is almost the same size alot of sub compacts like the SW Shield, yet holds 13 rounds vs. 7-8, Has great grip feel, comes with a rail, and they are super reliable. Then on top of that, precovid, you could often find on sale for $199.

Had one of these we bought used at Cabelas. Utter pile of trash. I would take a Taurus or Hipoint over one of these in a second because at least I know those will work. Terrible machining quality. Terrible recoil spring assembly felt like it was out of a .22. Sat for months without selling because everyone was scared away by how bad it was.

It’s a cheap pistol already and you bought it used. I must say that you had what’s coming to you but I am curious about this pistol. Good to know that i’m not missing out, but a cheap high quality pistol would be good for everyone.

Cheap and High quality will be tough to come around in this day and age. Man, do I miss the MP shield for 250 with a 50 dollar rebate that happened a few years back.

I’ve posted before on these FMKs but wanted to share my experience here too. I got the gray frame and slide combo over a year ago for $200 shipped. I had the same issue with the gun not going fully into battery but still close enough the gun would attempt to fire... the firing pin would strike the edge of the casing outside of the primer. 3 times I spoke with FMK, twice sending me parts that I replaced and didn’t help. After sending in, I was still having the same issue regardless of ammo, and FMK said it was working fine. I changed the recoil spring to the factory weight Glock 19 spring and PROBLEM SOLVED. It always seemed like a weak recoil spring but even the “new” one from FMK was no different.

With that being said, I’m very happy with the pistol now and even modified 20rd and 30rd promag XD mags to work consistently. The only time the gun malfunctions, stovepipe or failure to go fully into battery, seems to be due to limp-wristing the gun. It’s very comfortable but the trigger takes a little to get used to... it’s not very refined.

Good gun for the money, if you don’t mind tinkering with it, but I wouldn’t expect it to run well out the box

I'm interested but the "sniper" on side and the obsession with military sounding acronyms make me wonder how serious these guys are about the actual firearm's function and design. This sounds like it's being marketed to an airsoft range.

Weren’t you in the military Woohoo, stop being such a massive nancy for christ. It’s cheap and you love cheap crap so seems right up your idiot alley. Chiappa here you come

Wow, someone woke up on the wrong side of the crib....

There is big difference between "value" and "cheap." A Hipoint carbine is a great VALUE while a Hipoint pistol is CHEAP. The distinction is not subtle.

Based on other reviews this sounds like a VALUE item but I personally will steer clear of any pistol with "SNIPER" on the side.

Yeah but for the price....

'This sounds like it's being marketed to an airsoft range.'
Sounds more like your line of shooting. Something tells me that most of your guns ARE airsoft ;)

Not exactly true. I bought a FMK Recon that I LOVED. But it consistently had a failure to battery issue. I contacted them and I had the option to ship it back to them (me paying for the return cost) or accept shipment of a replacement spring set for free and I repair it myself. I tried the repair it myself and from then on the trigger failed to return forward. I LOVED the feel and accuracy of the pistol, but I couldn't deal with the unreliability. They could have paid for shipping back to them and I'd still be a happy customer.

I think the best customer service from American gun makers can be found with Hi Point and Henry. Jokes apart, Hi Point warranty follows the gun, not the owner. I do wish other brands did the same.

These are fine pistols. Especially at the price. They are sort of "glockish" but are comfortable to shoot, fairly accurate and light weight. The trigger takes a little time to get used too but better than alot of budget guns.
