From an insider... the Cabelas guarantee only covers materials and workmanship within a 'reasonable' time period. For instance, a pair of boots may wear out in a year with heavy use. You do t get a new pair. If the soles fell off after a week or two, you get new boots. However if you complain enough, Cabelas will ALWAYS replace with an equivalent product or cash you out with a gift card. SOP is to throw money at the problem until it goes away.

I have this bag, I like it, it's not too big but big enough to hold several handguns and ammunition, shooting glasses, earpro Magazines, etc etc. It beats having a huge bag that you really want a hand truck to haul around the range like my brother in law does.

Had the same thing happen with a pair of socks. I tried it once and they said I had to have a receipt. A second time I was told, “we don’t do that anymore.” I like Cabelas too but their lifetime warranty is BS.

Did you take it to a Cabelas store? If not and you have one nearby, it might be worth your time to see if the store will treat you better. Then again, they may not depending on the person/manager you speak with. I realize it is a crapshoot.

I really like Cabela's and have bought a ton of stuff from them but wish they would stop already with the "lifetime guarantee" propaganda.
I contacted them about an 8 year old rain jacket that the zipper broke. They said "Oh, you bought that several years ago. That's probably just normal wear and tear." Fine, but quit advertising that it's guaranteed for life cuz it's not.
