It looks so well designed, how can it be discontinued?

Appears to ribbed so silence is unlikely. The ones that are smooth on the outside are the silent ones.

Silencer? So it makes my gun silent? Or it's a suppressor, because it helps to suppress the sound?

Your Form 4 is for a "silencer" not a suppressor. Same for a Form 1. If you ever tried to actually buy or build one, you'd know this.

I prefer silencer as the word itself defines that it is a sound-related function. Suppressor doesn't by virtue of the word define it's purpose. Supressor could refer to anything suppressed, not just sound. Neither word infers complete silence. I sell faux suppressors, and they are called suppressors by the manufacturer, not faux silencers.

This "I need to correct everybody" superiority complex is too snobby for the gun community. The whole point is it's a brother hood to help each other grow as people not call people out for using terms incorrectly or even in this situation correct. Two weeks ago I went with my brother who is new to gun, to buy his first AR. My brother said something like do you have any extra "clips" for this gun to the salesman. Some fat fuck smirked and said "pssh they're called magazines". My brother looked at me asking what the fuck is wrong with this guy. We have enough problems with bad PR in the gun community, we don't need people thinking we are all snobs too. Bottom line is silencer, suppressor, mag or clip we all know what is being said. I'm not meaning to call Mr Infidel out directly, this is just fresh with me.

Who gives a rat ass who is superior in firearm information? All I care is the superiority of my money! If you get offended then don't buy from the jackal. Tell them out loud, I have money and they are not getting your business with that attitude! Also why are you so sensitive like a woman? You need desensitive pills, or a doctor to have your head exam. Opinions and coments are like assholes, everyone has one!

Good for you on helping your brother out. We need more folks like you in the community. As for trying to be a snob with my comment, that isn't what I was striving for, but I understand your reasoning. Cheers!

Also for what it's worth, "silencer" is the proper legal term. I prefer to call them suppressors because it's a more accurate term for the device but silencer, as far as legal verbage is concerned, is correct.

Also not trying to be a jerk, I was adamant about suppressor being right and silencer being wrong, until I found this out.

No I'm with you. Even though I believe that suppressor makes more sense, silencer is what the device was named originally. The inventor patented it under the name silencer.
