If you've been looking for a 1911 chambered in 9mm -- one that retains the ergonomics of the original -- you know your options are limited. Well, here's a good option at a great price. ATI has developed quite the reputation for delivering rock-solid quality and value, and here's yet another feather in their cap. The FX9 GI is a commander-length 1911 that stays faithful to the classic 1911s, in look and feel.

It utilizes John Browning's classic cam-action design, and the lock-up is tight, as are tolerances in general. The safeties, mag release, and slide release controls are unobtrusive and right where they should be. In short, it's a classic — and with the battle-worn finish, it looks more classic than ever.

I dont understand why ppl keep talking trash about this gun, none of them are actual owners, guys, just ignore the stupid finish (very smooth cerakote finish, its not sanded down to the metal like ppl said), I have bought two and have been flawless, very accurate, the sights are very good, hit point of aim, recoil is next to zero. And again, its 9mm 1911, shop around to see if you can get a better price.

Split that walnut. Put some hair and tissue in the mag well. That's battle worn.

Yeah, some Isis DNA. That's operator!

Price keeps dropping little by little first time I believe it’s been under $300.00.

I generally agree generally with the "battle worn" comments but for me it was like washing your cammies in bleach to get the "salty look" when you've been in the Marines less than a year (why do it). I have been looking for a Browning (FN) Hi-Power but don't want to commit to 1k+. Besides these at the hypo-300 range does anyone have any recommendations for a HP 9mm clone? Thanks in advance,

I have an actual fn hp. I got from buds for 299 out the door. Its an Israeli police surplus pistol in fair condition. The outside is I agree fair. However the guts are gorgeous. I put a bh spring kit in for good measure because the manufacture date per Browning website was 97. Its a mk111. It ran like a top so I saved the originals for backups. Those Israeli pistols come in waves you just have to watch for them. The Israel kareen is imho the best clone if you want to go that route. Second to that would be the feg hungarian although some models are more desirable. Just do your homework.

Blemish gun that they hit with sand paper and called it battle worn. Whats next?
dim night sights called vintage?

oh you mean tactical, stealth sights?

$8 extra and you can have a "normal" not a shitty "battle-worn" 1911 and in .45acp not 9mm lol that being said who TF would buy this?

Right, I do agree with you on that, but for me, single stack pistols, I'd to have as many rounds as possible, 9mm will get the job done, double stack are a different story. :)

I just paid $309 for a second one, same price. Went to the range with my first one, shot 100 rounds 124gr fmj and 50 HST 124gr +p and 50 XM9001 using 9 and 10 round mags, flawless. What more can you ask for a $300 9mm 1911 commander?

Current price (11/21/17) is $312 after code discount and shipping. Smoky Mountain has the same gun in the regular, non 'battle worn' finish for $330 shipped. So, if you don't like this finish, it is only $18 more there; not too bad. Great price either way for a decent quality 9mm 1911.

We used to call a crappy finish a factory second

I am going to use sandpaper to strip the cerakote finish off, then polish and cold blue, antique look, thats what I really like

Make sure and sand off where it says ATI.. lol

This would make a nice candidate if you already have cerakote/gunkote setup at home.

Great marketing strategy. Take sandpaper to your blems and call them battle worn finished.

Just picked mine up, soaked in oil, very nice pistol, tight fit, no rattle when i shake it, 10 round mags fit like a glove, pull the slide couple times, very smooth. Like it alot so far, will clean it and take it to the range after installing night sights.

I will receive mine tomorrow, going to clean it then take it to the range, I might get another one if it shoots flawless. Bought 2 Mec-gar 10 round magazines on Ebay for $21/each shipped.

I have the standard gi model. Great pistol no ftf, fte in a couple hundred rounds. Mine even surprised me by feeding from the factory act magazine too. My only complaint is that 1911 gi grip safety eats my meaty hands up when I get A hi grip. Non existing problem if you get the grip safety show in the photo.

I'm a bit disappointed to see this price. I received mine about 3 weeks ago and paid $325. While the battle worn finish is less than to be desired, it's great gun and so far I have had zero issues during the 150 rds I've put through it. At $299, the price would have paid for the FFL transfer fee.

Been looking for my first 1911. Hope it will perform well

Have this gun for a long time now and it is great. Paid 325 gor the parkerised gi model, and it's a 1911. Shoots good and even feeds from the factory act mag.

Could not resist the deal, just pulled the trigger $309.23

I just got mine and took it out for the first time this weekend. Shot great for me ran 200 rounds through it with no issues.

I don't like the finish or that it only comes with one mag but for $300 it's a great deal.

Price seems decent but that "battle worn" finish is absolutely ridiculous! Why the hell would you want a new gun that looks beat to hell? That's as bad as buying new jeans with holes in them already. ....stupid.

The price is good but the gun sucks! I bought one at a gun show and took it back the next day because the magazines wouldn't seat and the round would jam up. I exchanged it for the 4.25 frame and went to my car and tried to load it and had the same problem.

Thanks for the heads up. Good thing I didn't make the jump.
