I posted this deal in an AK group and took a lot of roasting from members pining about the $200 AK days. Many people are out of touch with what the market has become these days . If you have to have an Arsenal this deal is about as good as it gets for new in the box.

These guns just keep going up in price....whoever put thumbs down is a clown and doesn’t know the AK market. Zastava’s are going for over 1k, and Romanian imports are closing
in on 1k. No sales tax at Kvar.....1,200 is a deal.

So...you're not old enough to remember buying these pieces of shit for 129$ all day long then.
Yea, it's a piece of shit, inaccurate, heavy, short range, clunky as hell.
You can get an AR that shoots the same round accurately for about 1/2 the price....but it's still a shit round.
This is NOT a deal, it's an assrape and you're offering to hand them the lube, might as well make it pumice handcleaner so they can get some traction eh ?
True worth, maybe 450.

You could buy WhiteCastle for .10c a burger back in the day. That doesn’t mean a cheeseburger isn’t worth $1 at McDonalds today. Palmetto is pumping out Ak’s from $600 to 1k+ and that’s for American made. Companies like Zastava have been doing it for decades along with all the other imported Ak’s. The current market for imported Ak’s is 1k+ easy on a bad day. Let alone the ones that aren’t imported anymore are twice that. Once again an imported Ak for $1,200 is a deal that’s pretty much bottom dollar for imported Ak rifle across the board. And once some Demy bands imports it will be worth twice that much. AR’s have flooded the market and are a dime a dozen, I own many. But to get an imported gun these days is hard enough let alone what the future holds.

Great, thanks buddy. So no actual objective comparison amongst other AK’s in the market as to whether or not this is a good deal. Just shitting on AK’s as a whole, thanks thats helpful

I bought one of these. That guy doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground. I did my research and read the bad reviews and complaints especially. The complaints I’ve seen such as the paint flaking off after getting hot must have been a bad batch a few years ago. To test this I ran 2 75 round drums as fast as I could manage with the hottest 124gr 8m3 I have back to back. Yes it was smoking like a bitch, yes the hot spots did turn a sort of darkish gray to indicate extremely high heat. No I didn’t use a temperature gun as I don’t own one. After about 40 rounds the group opened up to about 3” with a few (<10) fliers. Out of 150 rapid fire rounds I consider that good enough. Other groups that day were averaged out to 1.85.” All of this at 100 yards. Better than my WASR-10, ZPAP, and Mak-90. Not by much, but with what WASRs, ZPAPs and Maks are going for these days it’s in my mind worth the small jump in price. Other complaints such as rough machining and canted sights or a front trunnion lacking the necessary chamfer were found to be either unwarranted or no longer apply. Front sight is dead straight, trunnion is good to go, and nary a machining mark to be found. Not that all companies don’t put out lemons, but my guess is either k-var or arsenal fired or replaced the monkeys responsible for the issues that were (if you listen to the internet, I would take my comment with a grain of salt too if I were reading it) plaguing this exact model a few years back. Extremely pleased with my purchase, k-vars shipping time, and would do it again if I had $1,200 burning a hole in my pocket.

Bring back the SAM series. I'm afraid what those will cost.

If Kalashnikov USA is making their AK103 in the US and bringing it to market at 999 MSRP (more like 850-900 real price) I can't see how this inflated price can be justified.
KUSA FTW

F*** Arsenal. Only hypes are paying those prices. These came out at 800, then they artificially reduce supply, then back up prices to 1200.
I'd go with with KUSA AK-103, Wasr, WBP Fox and PSA AKE before this. All have better customer service as well.
These crooks in Bulgaria have one means of income and they're milking it for all it's worth.

Atlantic arms has the WBP FOX under $1000. Fit and finish is far better. “I owned both” kept my WBP FOX. Also you can find a Wasr for under $750. Stamped arsenal guns are not that great. Good yes. But not what I would expect from arsenal.

3rd option is palmetto state armory. You can find a good AK under $600. I’ve shot around 3000 rounds thru mine.

lol, given up in early 2018 when they discontinued the 107fr and raised the 107r prices up to what the FR was going for.
