no reason to pay this price for this rifle and not get a SAM-7sf instead

I will drop my asking price down to $2000 if anyone is interested. Everything is included as before. I have the original box and manuals. Firearm has been cleaned after every use and is in brand new condition. Reason for selling; I've found myself gravitating more towards the AR platform rather than the AK.

The price may be similar to where it was at before the EO, but I'd struggle to pay more than $1,000, the same way I'd struggle to pay more than $1,000 for an SLR-105/104.

AK-74 values have (and rightfully so) gone down due to the ban on importation of 7n6. Sure, you can buy commercial loads, but the real popularity lay in being able to go to the range and blast $0.12 centerfire rifle ammo with similar potency to 5.56x45. The market has certainly established 5.45x39 as an available round, but in the event of a slowdown (ie, people stop buying ammo), 5.45 is going to get hit first and producers are going to shift production to more popular rounds like 5.56 and 7.62x39. The price of 5.45 will go up, and AK-74 owners will start to sell their rifles. Is that bound to happen? No... but it points out the risk in buying an expensive AK-74 when a similar variant in 5.56x45 or 7.62x39 will likely retain its value better in the future. The price point we're seeing on this Saiga is purely driven by lack of recent availability.

I know some people will argue that they prefer 5.45 over 5.56 for SBR's and whatnot, but with the future of 5.45 in question (and by that I mean cost - it will always be available... the question is for how much), I couldn't justify buying this.

For the record, AIM surplus had these exact rifles available for $730 back in 2010. I know that was a long time ago, but $1,200 is too rich for my blood.

I have this same exact firearm with 1080 rounds through it, along with 3,240 rounds of 7n6 surplus 5.45x39 ammunition I'll send with the rifle for sale ($2500)

just wonder, new to the AK type rifles, where is the additional $500 dollars in this rifle ?.

You might not notice the $500 in the function of the rifle, if that is your only need, get one of the new wasr rifles. The extra $500 comes in the form of collection value and general historic significance related to the AK platform.

This is the same price as it was before the EO. Buy it now if you want one.
