Alex,

I'm sorry, but your statement is incorrect.

Eagle produces these under the Armalite name and particular specifications. There is no "knockoff" occuring here, rather a mutually beneficial strategic business parntership between companies.

Yes, for $400 that is true, however, this is a discussion on price point and economy-minded buyers.

I own POFs, BCMs and DD and all those dwarf an M400,..however, that was not the underlying topic of this discussion.

One consideration supporting that is many buyers looking at a $400 rifle don't wish to bump up to one double the price.

Wait till prices come down?
Currently its onsale for $399 shipped. I really don't see it being able to be priced even lower. Most so called 'budget' AR's prices have stabilized over the past month. Most likely we have seen the bottom of the market. In due time prices will start to creep upwards, when is anybody's guess though.
The spec's on this AR are amazing considering the price.
If in the market for this AR, i would not suggest waiting in hopes of saving ten bucks. Get it while you can

TY1998 is correct, this is no knockoff. Eagle, Aero and Armalite are affiliated.
Alex, check out the spec's of the Eagle 15, you'll be rather surprised. While its only $400, it will hold its own against guns like the Sig M400 and other AR's twice its price.
I own a M400 and its a good gun, but when you compare the spec's, its not worth twice the price of the Eagle.

Seems like a good deal for a rifle built by a company like armalite. At this price it might be worth trying one out. They claimed to use all the same tolling and machines to build these as they do their high end line and military stuff. Anyone shoot one or have experience with these?

"one-year warranty"

Ruger And S&W offer a better warranty

What's better this or the Ruger? My first AR purchase.

It is a coin toss. I own both. Save 200 more dollars and buy the Colt 6920 on here for a little over 700 and you are getting the real deal M4.
i own all of them.

Then add another $200 for the Colt.

OP(4/13): I just got a price match of $479 to work and ordered one. Hoping it gets honored, I will post a follow up comment if there are any problems.

Edit(4/20): Received tracking number today, very pleased that they honored the deal. Took a week (5 days not counting sat and sun) from order placement til item shipped, but it was worth the wait at this price. $20 cheaper than closest competitor + free shipping, thank you Bud's gun shop.

I am surprised that BUDs would falsely advertise their guns. I won't do business with someone who knowingly false advertises.

Buds will not honor that price of 474

Another flawless purchase from the good people at Kentucky Gun Company. This rifle came by UPS in good working order except for one detail the bolt carrier key was not properly staked but no matter a two minute fix with the Brownells carrier key staking jig and were good. Nice build for $500. Came with a PMAG. Buy one before you kick yourself in the @ss later for not buying one. 1/8 twist .223 Wylde barrel chrome lined as far as can tell.

How's the trigger on these? I have the M&P sport II, no regrets, but I hear good things about the Eagle/Armalite guns.

They are good guns. Trigger is smooth.

Picked this up yesterday. Very good build quality for a budget rifle. A quick run down of some features:
-Heavy Barrel profile. Really beefy.
-.223 Wylde 1/8 twist, non chrome lined
-M16 full auto BCG, properly staked
-F marked front sight
-M4 style feedramp
-Milspec stock, not commercial

Very happy with it. Kygunco.com however took their sweet time shipping it. 14 days to be exact. Not happy about that.
