With this package, you get to choose for yourself exactly what gear you want in that fight.The Testudo Gen 2.0 Plate Carrier is an armor carrier designed both to maximize coverage and be able to adjust to a perfect fit for the wearer. It features fully adjustable cummerbund and shoulder straps, making it more than a “one-size-fits-all” solution. It also has plenty of PALS webbing for attaching your MOLLE-compatible pouches, holsters, and accessories. On the PALS is an application of Velcro, offering superior versatility for placement of medical, moto, or other patches or gear. The Level III+ Lightweight is multi-hit capable against a variety of special threat rounds: It is independently tested to prevent penetration from .223/.308 WIN rounds, 5.56 M855 penetrators, and 7.62x39/7.62x51/5.56 M193s all at bullet speeds of up to 3,000 feet per second. It also stops multiple hits from all Level III threats and below. It also features an ergonomic shape, a lighter weight than most steel, and edge-to-edge multi-hit protection. Our Level IV ALSC Ceramic, manufactured in-house, is made to handle more powerful military-grade weaponry than any other plate. Most importantly, the Level IV is able to stop .30 caliber armor-piercing rounds; tested to the proposed NIJ 0101.07 RF3 rifle standard, our ceramic plate stops 1 round of .30-06 M2AP ammunition (2880fps) at 25 feet.Additionally, these plates are made in our special ALSC (Advanced Lightweight Shooters Cut) shape, which provides protection of your vitals while strategically trimming the edges to mitigate bulk, reduce weight, and improve ergonomics.The Level III Polyethylene provides high-grade protection that won’t fatigue you when you’re active and won’t endanger you when you’re near water. Tested independently to NIJ Level III standards, this polyethylene plate is capable of stopping the 7.62x51 M80 Ball at 2780 FPS. It has also been tested to stop some special threats; it will defeat 5.56x45 M193 at 3150 FPS and 7.62x39 AK-47 at 2380 FPS.The primary benefit of the Level III Polyethylene, however, is its weight: Only PE hard armor can provide rifle-rated protection at under four pounds. The greater activity this allows makes polyethylene a popular choice for many military personnel, law enforcement officers, and civilians.Each plate set also comes with a pair of Trauma Pads; one is worn behind each plate to reduce the blunt force impact of the bullet and decrease backface deformation. This protects both the plate and the wearer.For even more coverage, the Side Plates provide 6”x8” rifle-rated protection from the Testudo’s side plate pockets within the cummerbund.
