Plus 10 for their bull crap FFL fee....

I won't pay the $10 processing fee on principle. No one else does this. I already have to pay my ffl a transfer fee.

Bought 7, the website invoice after submitting order had them at discount, first email had them listed at discount, but the confirmation email and shipping email had them at full price, and I got charged full price, call customer service, they are nice and will help you out, I’m getting the difference credited back to my account within the next couple days

Bought 5 and they charged me full price for all 5 , 72.00 each. The first email I received said 224.95 for all 5 shipped. Then received another for 360.00. Checked my bank account and they billed me the full 360. Calling customer service in the mourning maybe they will fix it.

Same thing happened to me. Email I received after checkout listed them at 44.99 for a total of 214.95 after discount code. The next email with order# had them at 72.00 and a total of 350. Called Brownells yesterday evening and was told the dept that handles that was closed and it would be passed on. Haven't heard anything back yet. I just sent them an email asking why I was not given the 5+ quantity discount. Guess we will see what happens...

Stripped lowers transfer as a pistol. It’s legal to convert a pistol to a rifle but for whatever reason not legal to convert a rifle (or long gun) into a pistol. This is why when your ffl fills our your paperwork they should mark it as a pistol.

0 votes
1 vote

actually that's not true. they are marked as "other" on the 4473. This was changed several years ago when there was only "long gun" or "pistol" on the form, but now they do other. It requires a 21 min age though, but they're not marked down as pistol. I've watched every ffl I've every bought one from mark it as "other" too

It's state dependent my state they don't do either as it has not been determined yet they are called other firearm and you make the determination at the time the only downside is they regulate to 21 Years old in that case

Well I was half right. I asked my ffl and yes its marked as other. I picked up two lowers and a pistol one week and he told me that he had to fill out a form and send it to the sheriff because I purchased more than 2 pistols in one week. apparently "other" and "pistol/handgun" are in the same category on that state regulation. Honest mistake!

you weren't actually wrong in some states they treat it as a pistol period because of your initial statement that it can go from pistol to rifle and back but not the other way around.

Can these be used for pistol builds or strictly for rifles?

a stripped lower can be made into a pistol or rifle.

Buyer Beware! Sneaky Brownells will add a $10 Handling Fee and/or a $10 FFL Fee to their supposed good deal sale prices on stripped lowers. Pretty frikkin low of them to do that...smh I won't forget it, either.

J moose. Please attach a link where we can find these for cheaper? Including brownells “sneaky”. Lol. Charges.

Everyone knows brownells charges that dumb $10 fee.. if it doesn’t MATH out I don’t buy it.

So... post a link or shut the F up

Facts. Use your words.

It was with a different code when I commented 3 months ago big mouth. $89.99 shipped with the $10 fee came out to $99.99 shipped to my FFL. Brownells changes their codes constantly

U still get 2 quality lowers for $100 delivered. Typing in 3 characters in the code section at checkout not good enough?!

Nice find. These are good lowers and at this price ($99 for two shipped), only a few more than Anderson. No brainer!

Is there a 10$ FFL fee for each?

0 votes

it's a $10 ffl fee for the whole order... meaning if you order 1, or 20, you get a SINGLE ffl processing fee. which is negated by the LDD coupon...

holy hell. $39.99 for Gen 2 lowers? that's Anderson prices. I'm in for 3 more at that price. holy shiiiiiit

$10 FFL Processing fee. Nope.

3 votes

Best bang for your buck around, I think primary arms has these on sale for the same price atm. Aero produces parts for several so called "manufacturers" that rebrand them as their own. AP is good to go

Excellent info Dan and more than I could ask for, thank you very much!

Fyi, i haven't had any slop in my two Anderson lowers. Finish is another matter, but to be expected. I've heard quality on Aero lowers usually depend on the rollmark. Anchor forge is gtg. Other ones are failing a bit.

Ty,

These uppers and lowers are the real deal. Much less slop than the Anderson lowers that are almost the same price. I just put an Aero upper and lower together and it was Mega Arms tight (almost have to pry then apart). Granted it was the stealth gray edition with the cerakote, which I believe was the reason it was so tight, but the anodized ones would be almost as tight. Plus you have that tension screw which makes it perfect. Good luck. You won't be disappointed

Dan,

How tight is the fit between these AP upper and lowers (I am aware of the tensioner screw)?

How consistent is the look and feel of the anodizing between the upper and lower as well?

Lastly, what Faxon profiles as well as their bcg are you using or most familiar with?

0 votes
0 votes

The fit and finish between the receivers is as good, if not better than my S&W, Windham Weaponry, Special Ops Tactical, and Adam Arms rifles. There is no two tone look between the upper and lower and any slop, if it exists, is so minimal I have never even utilized the tensioner screw. I have no complaints.

I use the standard Faxon BCG. I have not used their lightweight carrier. I like the Faxon BCG because when compared to other nitride finished BCG's I have purchased, it looks like I am holding a piece of jewelry rather than AR part. Of course they are a little more expensive. I have a Alpha premium BCG I bought from Sunny State. It cost less and functions fine, but there is difference in the look and feel.

As far as the Faxon barrels, I personally prefer their "Gunner" profile. Makes for a lighter build, but a little heavier than a pencil barrel. Ordering from Faxon the barrels are not, dimpled or pinned. They apparently will modify them for large orders. That's why I buy mine from Aim Surplus because the barrel is pre drilled and includes a "pinned" gas block.
