These feature a Carpenter 158 Bolt, and a full profile chrome lined carrier. Bolt is made of shot-peened, Mil-spec Carpenter 158® steel. Gas key is secured with grade 8 fasteners and staked. The bolt carrier is parkerized outside and chrome lined inside.

Both 2 of them a few months back for my 350 legend builds. 300 rounds later no issues from the very first round. Good bargain for something that just works.
Noth no wrong with phosphate. Military uses it. Only negative would be it’s slightly harder to clean than nitride and it’s going to produce slightly more friction so you need more lube. (What she said.)
I gotta go for it, never can tell what'll happen next week, for 100 bucks no shipping nice to have spares.
The closer we get to the next election, the more gun stuff is going to cost. It’s definitely smart to get this stuff while prices are low!

Has worked for 50 plus years, I see no reason to change.
Nitride has its place, good for barrels, but I personally don't think it's good in high stress items that take linear loads like bolts and barrel extension. This is from my personal researching and use at work. If you want to use it, go for it, but what is wrong with phosphated bolts?
Is that supposed to be an argument? With that thinking we'd all still be shooting M1 Garands - Not that there's anything wrong with that, but neither is there with upgrades and improvements. I prefer the slicker surface of Nitride and Nickel-Boron to Parkerized, that's all.
Then don't buy it. Go buy a nitrate or NB bolt. And your comparison is invalid. The military and L.E. STILL use park bolts whereas the M1 Garands has been long sense replaced...
Nope, not supposed to be an argument, and I agree with you, I think nitrided carriers are a great idea, but the high temps required in the nitride process is often close to the annealing point of most steels.
Cause it works for now doesnt mean its good
