Just got this in the mail to ffl. If it wasn't for the $10 off, I would not order from them. Shipping was $24 for $42 of stuff and it was light. That's over 50% charge for shipping and still no insurance.

$23.66 to ship 3 stripped receivers from Classic Cons and "Big Shill Ben". Going with Brownells https://gun.deals/product/anderson-manufacturing-ar-15-stripped-lower-receiver-4999...

Never give Ben at classic firearms your email. Lol
He's good for two a day minimum.

Yeah, if you're only buying 1. I can ship 5 to OK and still pay less than $20 shipping.

No doubt. Still kicking myself for the 2 $60 Aero lowers I left in my cart that went backorder (and now $90) at Brownells.

I used the term "billet" to convey that it is one piece, and part of the forging. Where the rest of the photos show a standard stripped lower. This may be a decision making difference for some people that may, or may not, want to install their own over sized trigger guard. It is most likely Rural King using a stock photo that may, or may not represent the actual product for sale. The first photo came from the weekly ad of Rural King, the rest came from RKGuns.com. Which is why I believe the product to be the pinned version, instead of billet.
As far as my use of the term billet, sorry it's a carry over from motorcycling and automotive conversations e.g. "machined from billet". To many people out there make the mistake of thinking a forging can not be billet and only machined parts are billet. Billet just means "a single piece".
From Webster:
Definition of billet
1 a : a chunky piece of wood (as for firewood)
b obsolete : cudgel
2 a : a bar of metal
b : a piece of semi-finished iron or steel nearly square in section made by rolling an ingot or bloom
c : a section of nonferrous metal ingot hot-worked by forging, rolling, or extrusion
d : a nonferrous casting suitable for rolling or extrusion

I called and had them put me on a list for when they come in stock so I don't have to pay 10 shipping.

Yeah... just because it is a molded finger guard doesnt mean it has to be billet. It is still a forging, just with a molded guard.

You must be really brain dead. Its the winter trigger guard and it is molded with the receiver.

Pinned or billet? Not sure why their lead ad photo shows the finger guard as billet, but I am sure it is pinned like the rest.

Are these Anderson lowers no good or is it the Classic Firearms that people don't like? $20 to ship 10 lowers doesn't seem too bad.

Click "View Score." The three thumbs-down say it's not a deal. $56.71 shipped for a single Anderson lower is more than a few other retailers' regular prices. If you're getting more than 5 of them, this is probably close to the best deal available today, but certainly not the best deal ever. I have two Anderson lowers and had no issues with them.

I see they raised it $10 to $49.99. I snagged 3 a couple weeks ago when they were $39.99. Not a big deal as long as they don't do what Aero-precision did to us :( These are great, no blems and no problems accepting a lower parts kit ;)

Good lower and good price.
It wasn't long ago that people were paying 100+ for polymer!

I too got a few of these from PSA, really like the "integrated trigger" models...should have gotten more than 1 of those

I work in a machine shop and I believe that forgings are stronger than machining from a solid block of aluminum (aka billet), something to do with the forging process aligning particles on the molecular level. I'm not a scientist however, my understanding is that, all other things being equal, forging is technically stronger than billet. Now, whether or not this has any real world importance on a AR lower is certainly arguable.

These lowers are great. I have a couple that mated to uppers from different vendors with no problems. Fit was tight just like you would expect.

I've built 2 of them, no problems. Would buy again but I need another AR like a hole in the head.

My $.02...its good to go, typical stripped lower. On par quality wise with Rock River. Tolerances may be a little tight and require breakin it in a little to loosen up. The company, however, was caught shilling on arfcom a few times. There's a whole thread on there with guys b*tching about it.

What you mean shilling on arfcom? What were they doing?

Creating multiple multiples of accounts and spamming the forums making it look like new users just asking about or praising their products. Crappy way to tout a product but id still buy one of their lowers.

I ordered about 10 of these from PSA in the last couple months. Besides PSA usual long lead times, they are great lowers for the money. All MILSPEC. I forget which foundry actually makes them, but the quality and the finish is just fine. I think it is (don't quote me) the same foundry that makes spikes tactical forged lowers.
This may make some AR fanatics pissed, but a lower is a lower. So long it isn't polymer, the holes are in the right place and they aren't marred, then great. Billet vs. forged is up to you. There is no metallurgic difference between the two (i.e. strength, durability). If you don't want a flashy safe queen and want an AR, grab one of these. No one will know you paid $50. I grabbed some and threw them in my safe for the next time idiots are paying $200-250 for a lower.
I was hesitant too, but after I saw the quality on these, I cannot tell the difference nor reason why people pay more for a forged lower.
