Machined from 7075 T6 aluminum, this lightweight upper receiver from Anderson Manufacturing features no forward assist, but it's still dust cover compatible! Made to mil-spec and compatible with multiple calibers, this upper receiver comes in Type III black hard coat anodized finish. Match it with one of our lower receivers for a perfect fit.

Aero has Uppers without FA but with dust covers
Why no dust cover? Anyone know who makes an affordable slick WITH the appropriate mounts for the all-important dust cover? AR-15 reliability is tied to its environmental sealing. Eliminating the never-needed & problem-causing FA jack is a good thing, but why get rid of the dust cover?
Why? Weight, complexity. Cost. The only thing we use dust covers for is for clever engravings on them.
Closed bolt design and close tolerances prevents most debris from coming into contact with lugs as well as behind bolt carrier. Port door is useless if you're not in the sand pit. Just adds weight & additional part cost for otherwise lightweight sport carbines.
Aesthetics.
Secondarily, progress of manufacturing technology since the 1960's.
This is the way. Slick side uppers are where it's at. Seriously, who needs a dust cover.... "Operators"
