If you've got to have a 1911. I got a stainless Taurus PT92, 9 mm with two 17 round mags for $330. shipped & it's double action with a much easier take down. Then there's the Zastava 9mm's that have the 1911 single action for $200. Just suggesting cheaper alternatives. If you've got to shoot .45 ignore this.

Easy Fix.. take picture with your phone (or camera) of the 4473. Print out.. send in.
Yep, thanks for the idea. The 4473 Form rebate requirement seems odd since it doesn't verify that you passed the background check and actually took possession of the weapon. The photo should be enough to meet the requirement.
I'm a little concerned about the rebate. It requires a copy of the 4473 Form. I checked with my FFL and he doesn't supply copies. He says no-one does. Even if the rebate is denied, $330 is still a good price.
The FFL you use may not supply copies of 4473's, but some do. I just got a copy for the STG44 I bought a couple weeks ago. His choice to not give you a copy is an arbitrary decision. If it were me I would call around and see if other dealers in your area would as his policy raises the price of the transfer another $30 by preventing you from getting the rebate.
Wow, that is a heck of a price on a full size 1911 45.
