I think you would be better off going with a Metro Arms model for 80.00 to 100.00 bucks more. There was a nice commander model listed for 399 on this site not long ago.

Couldn’t resist at this price, no shipping or tax either

It's a good gun but I would go with the extended beaver tail model.

Recently bought one of these as I’ve always wanted a 1911 and couldn’t resist the price. Very pleased; cycles 230 grain hardball without fail and is accurate and a pleasure to shoot. Gun snobs need not apply.

Wow this is the cheapest I’ve ever seen for a 45acp 5inch 1911

I own one, hasn’t given me any trouble. Shot about 1,500 rounds through it, no hiccups. Not pretty but meh, it work.

Question if this handgun isn’t worth the money because of build issues how does it get a 5 star rating from 9 different people. Thanks.

No don't buy it. I bought one as my first 1911 - really didn't like it. I have since learned that ANY brand's "GI or military version" of a 1911 is equally bad. They go beyond basic, they are primitive compared to whats being offered now. GI sights are almost worthless. Recently I picked up a Springfield Range Officer -10X the gun for 2X the price. My ATI will never see the light of day again- until it gets sold to someone that has no clue.

I guess you don't like colt either bc these are basically colt series 70s like you said a very basic but dependable 1911 ATI/RIA are old colt factory with new name... It's a very good shooter and the quality of built is worth every penny, of course there are better/newer 1911 with way more feature but this is under $400

I don't agree that there's no use for a "GI or military version" of a 1911. That's sort of like saying there's no use for a Springfield 1903 or Enfield 1917. Sure, there are far more advanced rifles available today, but unless I am faced with an 'either/or' choice, I'd like to have all of them in my collection. I can't vouch for the quality of this ATI pistol because I don't own one. I can say, however, that the basic, old-school GI-style pistols I do own suit me just fine.
