Pretty cool book, I just ordered it, haven't read it yet. He is the deadliest American sniper ever, called “the devil” by the enemies he hunted and “the legend” by his Navy SEAL brothers . . .From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan (“the devil”) and placed a bounty on his head. Kyle earned legendary status among his fellow SEALs, Marines, and U.S. Army soldiers, whom he protected with deadly accuracy from rooftops and stealth positions. Gripping and unforgettable, Kyle’s masterful account of his extraordinary battlefield experiences ranks as one of the great war memoirs of all time.

Jesus... I think we'd be better off if gun.deals just removed the comments feature altogether and ran the site like DealNews. I browse the comments looking for intelligent information on whether a DEAL is good and I find everything that I don't want to find here...

Especially the political back and forth bullshit between the 'crats and the 'cans. Every damn comment section on Facebook or YouTube or deal sights is filled with this crap. Keep it in your political forums where it belongs please! Or better yet... just shut up. You are never going to talk someone into a new political view on the internet. Just like I'm never going to talk a Muslim into being a Christian by telling him that his post about the Koran is stupid.

While I'm bitching and whining... I want to give a big THANK YOU to all the guys that take the time to tell us all how crappy a deal is and how they got the same thing for half the price somewhere else and how we are the reason for the panic pricing because we'll pay these ridiculous prices...but NEVER post a deal themselves. Thanks for nothing. I guess I'll just stop buying high-priced ammo, stop shooting, and take up fishing so you can get some more good deals after your cheap ammo supply runs out, eh?

As for Chris Kyle, I'd like to think that he became a sniper for the sole purpose of eliminating a few assholes from the face of the earth with maximum prejudice. I hope he enjoyed every shot and happily hummed nursery rhymes while he methodically decapitated each target in his sights. Rest in peace, Chris... thanks for writing a book about your experiences. I'll take a few minutes to download it for free off my favorite torrent site.

Nothing specific to this book. I just don't buy them anymore because I ran out of room. I used to go to my local library, then I got a Nook and borrowed books electronically from the library for awhile, until they made it a pain in the ass. eg. Use this software...keep it this many days...we only carry these publishing houses...etc etc. I'd buy the electronic versions but I can't afford to buy 2 or 3 books a week at the inflated pricing.

So... now I'm just another guy stealing shit. Hell... my buddy that I grew up with published a novel last year that made the top 10 list and I downloaded that for free too. LOL

Not that I'm stingy with my money... I donate to dozens of charities. It's just a book thing.

REALLY? You mean there is a place where I could go to dinner with my wife or watch a movie without having to deal with the dozens of screaming, running undisciplined heathens that some asshole breeder brought with them because they figured everyone needs to be as miserable as they are? That is AWESOME! Hurray for dead QUIET kids!!!!

Man, what an eye opener. I didn't realize so many gun enthusiasts who frequent gun.deals are leftists, Bush haters, liberal oil for blood types, cindy sheehan types, ron paul nuts, etcs. Mmmm. Interesting. Again very sobering to see the level of hate for this great hero. I would expect this at the huff post, moveon.org, media matters, democrat underground, msnbc and in the circle of terrorist friends that odumbo grew up around. But not here. Disappointing and sobering but sad at the same time.

Yeah cause only people who like to shoot are rednecks, white supremacists, racists, drunks, troop worshippers, republicans, etc. *eyeroll* Pretty easy to generalize there. How about "gun enthusiasts that frequent gun.deals are just that ........ gun enthusiasts."

So, you agree with a racist that called all Middle Eastern people SandN#@$%$? If he calls them that what do you think he calls African Americans or any other Non White person? So, apparently some "Gun Enthusiasts" are rednecks, white supremacists, and racists.

Was quoting what Chris Kyle thought of them hence why I used quotes. And yea some gun enthusiasts are all of those things. That's the point.... people who are gun enthusiasts are from all walks of life and shouldn't be identified as just rednecks, bush haters, republicans or what not. Not sure why you didn't understand by my making fun of the previous commenter who was talking about Bush haters, etc.

Ya I think he got what he had coming to him, insult to injury was it was a non warriors death by a brother in arms. Snipers may seem cool but really they are so removed from the fight, only skill needed besides staying far away of the fight is a steady hand and a good rifle. Guess its an easy choice I might have chosen. Wow, and I could brag about all those kills? And make money from a book?
Was he one of these guys who left bomb making parts in the open and shot locals trying to pick up the parts?

Yes, so far removed he was shot....twice. and also because it is so easy to shoot a human (probably moving) at a thousand yards with many variables. You must be awesome at the shooting range. You all make it seem like he started the war. He had a job...he did it well. He saved American lives. He served FOUR tours. Also, he didn't make money off of the book. It went to families of fallen heroes. Why don't you all smoke more of your weed and go about your non important lives. Get in the fight...or stay completely out of it.

"Live by the gun, Die by the gun"

All those kills in all those those war zones in all those foreign shit holes, then dude goes out like a sucker on home turf by the very shit bag he was trying help. Unbelievable.

Fucking shame really.

Enh not really. A murder got murdered. A real sniper wouldn't have an ego that big talking about how many people he's killed. Too much myth surrounding this guy. I might have more respect for him if he was sniping Nazi SS in WWII. Shooting Iraqi's that are only shooting at you cause you're in their backyard is nothing to be gloating about.

Americans who were in Iraq for what exactly? I'm a POS for stating the truth?

You must not have ever served. That is clear. So, basically you are saying that Chis Kyle started the war in Iraq and the rest of the country followed him. Basically what you are saying is that it is all Chris's fault. That every American that ever supported their brothers and sisters in that campaign is guilty of murder and injustice. If you think that many of them agreed with this campaign that is a bit far fetched. They did what they were told to do. They served their country, for good or bad, they put their lives on the line. They honored their oath of service. Some, paid the ultimate price. I think your anger surrounding the Iraq campaign is misplaced. Are you a Jihadist? Probably not. P.O.S? Undoubtedly.

No I'm saying murdering is wrong. Is that not hard to understand? What was the threat to the Constitution by being in Iraq? There wasn't one. So by being there, without questioning your orders, shooting someone in their backyard makes you a murderer. Would you consider the Russians as being murderous dicks if they showed up in your backyard one day shooting your family under the guise of YOU are a threat to them and their way of life? My guess is you would think they were murderers. Same situation. But hey you couldn't blame the Russians cause they were told what to do instead of thinking. What a cop out.

And yeah they are guilty because they are acting as enablers to people who decided to "just follow orders". It would be one thing if you're a poor bastard who got drafted into Vietnam but for anyone going off to Iraq knew what they were getting into and going for and it sure as hell wasn't to protect the country or protect the Constitution. That should have been your first clue as to say no. From then on out I don't feel bad for what happens to you as a fault of your own actions for being there.

Porkchop.

Normally I don't argue with people stuck on stupid , but I'll make this exception.

Look, 1st of all, almost all soldiers don't get to pick and choose where they serve, especially during wartime. You have the wrong misconception of the military machine. The military isn't just a bunch of gun toting mindless volunteers looking to kill children and drink the blood of our enemies, it's all encompassing, from the Coast guard saving wayward sailors domestically and offshore, to the soldiers on the front lines.

Yes they're required to follow orders handed down by the chain of command, but unlike other armies, the American soldier can say no and not follow an unlawful order if the orders were egregious and unlawful. But you stating this 'following orders rhetoric is just moronic, obvioulsly you have no clue what it is to serve. But you're a fantastic armchair critic.

I'm retired military, and I DO NOT agree with many decisions our leaders decide, but like it or not, this is the way it is, if you don't like it, run for office and try to make a better America, but sitting behind you're keyboard calling American servicemen names is something to be desired.

With all due respect, Your a joke

I'm well aware of not choosing where you get to serve and you can refuse orders. That's the point. If you know something isn't right then why are you following it? By following it you just enable the bad policies. In short quit being the tool for bad foreign policy and bad diplomacy. The politicians wouldn't have the power without you to command. Lol run for office. Sorry I don't have millions.

I am saying: If you don't want murdering American soldiers (Your words) going into foreign lands and conquering their peoples and stealing their resources then do something about it rather then disgracing a dead person on gun.deals that would have gladly given his life for yours. He has proven that hasn't he? Also, don't pay taxes. You don't have to run for senate. Maybe start with volunteering for a senate representative that shares your views. Your views are yours and you have every RIGHT to express them. So do I. You don't like mine. I don't like yours. Good luck with Syria.

You say, "Cop Out" well that pretty much defines your viewpoint on your right to the freedoms you enjoy. I am not just speaking of Iraq...but all other campaigns we have ever been in. I think you're way of thinking is NAIVE...at best. If you were old enough to understand the climate leading up to AND during that campaign you would realize that the mentality of us all was to go fuck up some murderers...you know...9\11. You also make it seem that when we entered the Iraq campaign that we didn't have standing military. Right or Wrong my point is this: If you believe in the American way of life you will serve and protect its freedoms whether we are the defenders OR the aggressors. You back your country and ESPECIALLY the ones that serve it. That is the difference between people like you and people like me. I am not Naive to think that as a country we are innocent. For the record I regret that war. It does not mean I discredit all the soldiers and citizens that served and died in it. With your mentality you might as well go to the airport right now: wait for military personnel to come off a plane and spit in their face. What you are doing now is exactly the same thing. I seriously doubt you will.

Really? What freedoms have been protected in the last say 100 years of wars that the US has been involved in that have protected my freedoms? Were the Vietnamese threatening my freedom of speech or right to bear arms? Which country was a threat to the Constitution? List them please. Korean War? Persian Gulf War? At most you can say WWII but even that was really a result of bad policy of WWI which allowed the Nazi regime to come into being. The reality is more like the War of 1812 when the British actually were on the shores of the US.

The difference between people like you and I is that you can't think logically. See you're not protecting my freedoms at all. If you were you would be punching out politicians that are threatening the Constitution. I don't back people that aren't doing what they swore an oath to. Those are not Patriots. I'm well aware of the climate at the time as I'm not 10.

" You back your country and ESPECIALLY the ones that serve it. That is the difference between people like you and people like me. "

Seriously read everything you just said with the tone of Nazi from WWII. You would see how scarily fascist you are.

"With your mentality you might as well go to the airport right now: wait for military personnel to come off a plane and spit in their face."

That's an act of aggression I don't subscribe to. If you get shot dead for being on someone's private property knowing you're in a place you don't belong then I don't feel empathy for you. Maybe you shouldn't have just "followed orders". It doesn't mean I want you dead.

Hahahaha...Another arm chair soldier. Man, I have met people like you. Probably well off and can afford a conscience. You want to be protected and enjoy the spoils of war but don't want the blood on your own hands. You want the nanny state. You probably backed Obama's threat to the constitution. So, when you call me a fascist that is exactly what I think of you. When I say FREEDOMS you are taking that literal as in the constitution. If you had any intelligence you would understand what I am speaking of. You have enjoyed a great life here in the U.S. You come and go as you please. You buy whatever you want. You fill up your tanks to the brim without a thought to where it came from. You can decide to be the president or a bum. I think you chose the latter. Do you pay taxes? Congratulations you are as much to blame for our war machine as the politicians and soldiers that serve it. Apathy! If you hate America so much why are you here enjoying what has been GIVEN to you? Something you probably have not earned by your views.
There you go...that is the second time you have lumped military personnel with politicians. You assume they are the same. They are not. This is why I say your anger is misplaced. I have written to not only my state representatives but other states representatives. I have also written Obama and his cronies. Come next election I am voting some out...local...state...and federal. What have you done exactly except spew your twisted view on American policies via keyboard? You want to sit around a campfire, light up a marijuana joint, and sing Kumbaya don't you? Oh, the world would be awesome if people just laid down their arms and hug each other. You see how freaking naive you are? If you are not doing anything to change the policies then your apathy is your own guilt. Own up to it. Lastly, you are getting way off topic here. you were spitting on the grave of a great patriot. You can call him a baby killer all you want but it doesn't make it true. Fascist: Anyone that doesn't think like you. Who is the fascist? You are. And now that I realize how much you are disgusted by your own country then maybe that person that called you a jihadist really isn't that far off. You SAY you were old enough to understand the climate during Iraq. I seriously doubt that. Were we duped? Most undoubtedly. Were you infuriated when extremists killed thousands of innocents on 9/11? I was. I bet you want to spit on their graves too.

No actually I don't want or need you protecting me from boogeymen or threats that the US helps to create such as arming Syrian "rebels" al qaeda. In fact I rather you just stay home. It saves me tax money, it stops for profit warmongerers (Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, etc), it stops creating new threats that hate America (yeah cause they hate you cause of your freedom which is why Switzerland is so heavily attacked), it helps you not get killed by being in their backyard, and it helps to stop soldiers with PTSD coming back and killing someone here at home. If anything I don't want any nanny state so you're again wrong. Keep making assumptions. I don't hate America. I hate that America is turning socialist and fascist when people like you can't see it. You're ok with the NSA spying on you? How about getting felt up in airports? How about drones over the US? Yet you're probably one of the people that comes on here and bitches when his 2nd Amendment rights are being debated upon.

I'm willing to let the chips fall where they may be and see the outcome rather then say something like "well we get our oil from the Middle East". No you get your oil from Canada, Mexico, and other places more than just Saudi Arabia or Iraq. The people profiting from the war in Iraq are not the normal American citizen and certainly not the Iraqi people. They are people and corporations with oil interests and defense contract interests. The world wouldn't be hugging eachother nor would I give a shit if they did; but maybe you should realize that for the past 100+ years of bad US intervention in foreign affairs we've certainly ended up with the threat we now have today because of it. Maybe you should read Smedley Butler's War is a Racket sometime to see that we've been doing the same stupid shit for 100 years now.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_Is_a_Racket...
I'm sure it won't matter. You will keep doing the same shit as always and then wonder why the outcome isn't different. Done with arguing with you. /rant

Hahaha...Tell us ALL something we DON'T know already dude!!! Good luck with that whole changing the world thing. Trust me when I say I am in tune with what is going on...especially with my own country. Remember what we did to the Indians? If you feel bad about accepting the spoils of a conquered people then you need to leave North America...immediately. Stop being a hypocrite dude. This is why I say you are being Naive. It is the way the world is and always has been. Especially America. It always will be until everyone thinks like everyone else. Do I want to go fight any war for profit? Hell NO! Do I want to kill people? Hell NO! Do I want peace? Sure! But I'll be damned if I am going to spit and disgrace a soldier fighting in the military for right or wrong reasons due to a government that portrayed it in a patriotic light as well as the government controlled media blitz that followed. You seriously need to think back to September 11th. Think about those planes hitting the towers. I can think of at least ten families that I know that their sons and daughters signed up shortly after 9\11 because they believed it was their duty to protect the rest of us. What makes you think Chris thought any differently? You don't know. I am proud of him and ALL the military persons I know and don't know. Again, you are off topic. You were attacking Chris for his service. You should just stop talking.
