Description

Shooters who compete at the highest levels need ammunition built for the demands of their discipline. American Eagle® Syntech™ Action Pistol is specifically designed for the action shooting sports and loaded to power factor requirements with heavy, flat-nose bullets for more reliable knock-downs on steel targets in competition. Like all Syntech loads, they feature the exclusive Total Synthetic Jacket (TSJ™), which prevents metal-on-metal contact between the bullet and barrel, eliminating copper and lead fouling as well as reducing damaging heat and friction. Combined with clean-burning powders and the Catalyst™ lead-free primer, Syntech Action Pistol provides the softest-shooting and most reliable performance possible for high-volume competitive shooters.

- Official ammunition of the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA)
- Optimized for action shooting sports’ power factor requirements
- Reduced felt recoil for faster follow-up shots
- Flat-nose Syntech bullet for better energy transfer to steel targets
- TSJ eliminates copper and lead fouling, while extending barrel life
- Exclusive lead-free primer formulation provides reliable, consistent ignition
- Clean-burning propellants minimize residue
- Drastically reduces splash-back on steel targets

To add to your question, this is my go to suppressor ammo. It's well below the sound barrier, so you can use it through full size PCCs. It runs cleaner than typical FMJ, and is cheaper than most, if not all, 147+ grain 9mm I've found. This is fantastic stuff for range practice.

How well do these do with a suppressor? Does the coating on the bullet gum up the can at all? I blast at alot of steel, so they seem like they would be better for that application.

I just shot 300 rounds through a CZ scorpion pistol with a Octane 45 this weekend. These 150s remained subsonic in that barrel and didn't gum up the suppressor in any way. It actually seemed cleaner than using Federal copper projectile 147s. Im buying more specifically for suppressor use.

Excellent to hear!!! I am also running the Octane 45 on my Scorpion, and it is a killer setup that is nice and quiet. Just acquired a PC Charger that I want to run the Octane on also. Was looking for a more cost effective solution than the 158 gr PPU's that I have been running. Cleaner burning and less fouling makes it even a better deal. Thank you very much for the reply.

So how do they do outside of competition for performance? Would they work in self defense application if needed? Like the idea of less barrel fouling.

BARELY more muzzle energy than a 22lr stinger or velocitor.
Are your wrists really that limp ?

Perfect for suppressor use.

These are made for competition shooting. The entire point is to have the absolute lowest recoil possible while still being just powerful enough to not get disqualified for being underpowered. The people you're calling "limp wristed" are the same ones out there winning competitions, so I'm sure they'll get over it.

Very good competition or target rounds.
I switched to them when my preferred Freedom Munitions 147gr HP target rounds were not available, and after 1500 rounds in the past 2 months I haven't had any fail to fire. The polymer jacket is giving some trouble to PCC (AR 9s) shooters, due to the jackets not being as slick, but I haven't seen anyone with trouble from handguns.

I've had no problems out of my Stribog (9MM PCC) with function, but damn do they shoot low with a can.
Still, a neat round.

I did the same. Luckily I had about 10K of the Freedom 147s in my cabinet. They had some in stock last week at FM and I ordered another few thousand, but the Synetecs are cheaper and Brownells ships a little quicker.

THey feel like they shoot about the same as the FM and are less expensive. I will be grabbing a stash of these and will start shooting them. I will chrono them vs the FM 147s as soon as I get a chance.

Good price on a great comp round that just scrapes by making PF, but who doesn't in comp? I would love it if they make a jacketed version to try this combo through a suppressor, I don't think that coating would be nice to clean out of the baffles....

Heavy round. I'm guessing longer barrel high twist. Price seems worth trying.

These work great for the intended purpose. I compete with this load twice a month. Very fun to shoot

Red Kryptonite? Nice may not kill super man but it will turn him into a dick.

875fps is a little slow even with a can.....

150g bullet in a 9mm, 875fps is pretty good.

I'm guessing that these are designed to just make the cut in terms of minimum power requirements specified by the competitive shooting organizations. I think pro shooters would want the lowest possible recoil while still passing minimum power requirements.

and by the muzzle energy, these still beat 380 acp by a long shot.

How well will these work on Sasquatch?

I wouldn’t recommend shooting a squatch with this round. I’ve heard the Hornnady XTP 147 grain is about the best damn squatch round you can buy. Gotta spend more to drop a legend.
