Will this work with a bull barrel

Is it true that these are leftovers from the "sons of guns" Red Jacket bizz? I have seen some posts on here that claim that this is true. If it is true, I hope someone will clarify, because it needs to be known where the profits are going.

Y'all really need to do your research.

Yes, that scumbag Will raped his own daughter.

No, he did not design the ZK-22. The ZK-22 was designed by Joe Meaux, who worked at Sons of Guns for a while. He now has his own company, Aklys Defense.

So no, NOT the same person!

I have the HTA and the Aklys. I assembled both today. THE HTA's trigger is a mushy mess, once you see the mechanics of it you'll know why, it's just a metal rod with the end bent perpendicular and lays in the trigger guard. It'a also 95% plastic and the fake magazine on top, the fake plastic barrel shroud which flops around and the charging handles being held on by one tiny phillips screw makes it seem more like an airsoft gun.
The Aklys is built much better with an adjustable cam for the trigger and a nicely engineered inner aluminum frame.
If you want a PS90 trainer the HTA will work, for quality go with the Aklys.

Hello Hobojon!- Thank you very much for your business! Our apologies if our stock didn't live up to your expectations in any way. As has been stated before, we are willing to do anything and everything to make you 100% happy with your purchase, even if that means taking the kit back for a full refund or replacing it with a brand new one. Your satisfaction really is our top priority.

As a percentage of plastic goes, our kit has substantially more metal than any other bullpup conversion available, including the ZK-22 which has several critical areas made of plastic. These areas include the ZK's plastic charging handle (ours is melonited steel), the plastic sight rail (ours is machined hardcoat aluminum), and finally a lack of any form of pillar bedding at all, polymer or otherwise (ours has an aluminum bedding block for securing the rifle with the takedown screw). I don't say this to bash the ZK-22, mind you! It's a fine product with many supporters and that's great to see! I'm merely pointing this out for people who may be confused by what you are saying about our kit.

It's true, our trigger rod is a hardened, melonited steel wireform. We won't hide that and we will in fact happily defend the merits of such a design (a design used by nearly all modern bullpup rifles) . First of all, steel requires 1/3 the amount of material for the same strength as aluminum. We even have it hardened to ensure the flex in our linkage is reduced to an absolute minimum. This means our rod can be substantially smaller than other designs of different materials for the same relative strength, resulting in far less bearing surface and hence, less friction. This generally leads to a smoother trigger pull, but we won't argue that it is impossible for you to have received a bad unit. That's why we will gladly work with you to make it right!

We guarantee your satisfaction for life and if we aren't providing you with the 100% satisfaction we promise, we'll definitely take it back and offer you a full refund. Please don't hesitate to call us or email us with any questions and thank you again for your business. Here is my personal email if you have any more questions, comments, concerns, etc. I'd be happy to help, day or night!

All the best,

Andy and the team at HTA

You may be able to BS somebody who hasn't seen the AKLYS and the HTA side by side, hell of an effort. Put the same amount of energy into improving your product. Like instead of spending the money putting your name on the shell deflector, make the plastic thicker and have it held on by more than one screw. It looks and feels like the bottom of a clorox bottle cut out and painted black. There's so much more wrong with the HTA, avoid all this and buy an Aklys instead. They don't need to write a book in a thread to get you to buy their product. It speaks for itself.

Hobojon,

Andy @ HTA isn't trying to BS anyone. I'm not sure where you got that. He responded to your complaints with an offer to replace your 90/22 or refund your money. You on the other hand do appear to doing your own BSing. Your complaints about the 90/22 stock are mostly BS:

1) Trigger is mushy - This might be your only genuine complaint and it's possible that you received a 90/22 unit with an issue. My 90/22 trigger is not mushy at all. There is a little bit of travel before the trigger bar contacts the 10/22 trigger but then it feels not unlike the stock trigger. The 90/22 trigger blade is wider, which is nice. I do think the ZK-22's camming approach to connecting the trigger bar to the trigger is neat.

2) 90/22 is "95% plastic" - Here's where you start with the BS. Both of these bullpup stocks are primarily constructed of plastic. The material that HTA uses for the 90/22 is similar (or possibly identical) to the material that FN uses for the P90/PS90. I don't know what the ZK-22 is made of or how it feels. As Andy from HTA points out, the 90/22 uses steel for the trigger rod and has an aluminum bedding block that the 10/22 attaches to.

3) 90/22 has fake plastic magazine - Another BS complaint. I think this is a nice feature. The 90/22 is supposed to look like a P90/PS90. The FN has a top-mounted magazine. Instead of molding a fake magazine into the stock, HTA makes a detachable magazine that can be used to store ammo. If you don't like the fake magazine you can leave it off.

4) 90/22 has fake plastic barrel shroud that flops around - More BS. This is again, a nice feature that HTA includes. It's just a plastic suppressor-looking shroud that allows you to hide the skinny 10/22 barrel, if you want. I didn't have any issues with mine flopping around. I haven't used it since I SBR'd my 90/22. It's an optional feature so leave it off if you don't like it.

5) 90/22 charging handles held on by one tiny phillips screw - Yet more BS. The charging handle grips don't need anything more than this screw to secure them. The 90/22 CH feels almost exactly like those on the FN PS90. HTA offers an upgrade to the included CH grips that uses a knurled metal knob. I think the upgrade will be a nicer interface to the CH grips that come with the 90/22 but the included grips don't feel cheesy, flimsy, or cheap.

6) 90/22 feels like an airsoft toy - Ha, I'm sorry. Here's the best of your BS. I have a PS90 in addition to the 90/22. They feel almost exactly the same to me in terms of the plastic used. The weight if the two guns isn't too different either. The charging handle grips are also nearly identical. I haven't had a ZK-22 in my hands so I can't comment on how the Aklys product feels. The 90/22 does not feel like an airsoft toy. Maybe you bought an airsoft PS90 when you thought you bought a 90/22?

7) 90/22 shell deflector has HTA logo, made out of thin plastic, held on by one screw - Ok, I see what you mean by this complaint. Not. The last of your BS complaints is pure silliness. My deflector is made of thick plastic. It does have the HTA logo but that doesn't bother me. I don't think adding the logo made HTA cut corners on this feature or any other feature of the 90/22. The job of the deflector is to keep spent .22LR cases from hitting a left-hand shooter's face. These are .22LR cases, not .50BMG. One screw is all this thing needs.

If you actually did buy a 90/22 and are unhappy with it, take Andy up on his offer of a refund. HTA's customer service is some of the best I've encountered and they're committed to ensuring their customers are 110% happy.

I didn't read your book. It should be in the HTA thread where all the other HTA shills are. Like I said, the HTA is garbage compared to the Aklys but if you need a ps90 trainer I guess it'd do. Try both you'll see what I mean.

Thank you so much ziptiespec- once again, your comment has shown us why we love doing what we do so much. Thank you- truly thank you, from the bottom of our collective hearts. Having customers like you means the world to us and we really do appreciate you stepping in and sharing your experience.

I am beginning to sincerely doubt that hobojon has even seen our kit, let alone owns one. If he can provide a valid order number, I'll gladly offer him a heartfelt apology and take the stock back for a full refund. But based on what we've seen so far, it's looking more and more like that won't be the case. I say again, I'm sure people can draw their own conclusions as to who hobo really is and why he would take the time to post in this manner, instead of contacting us directly and following up for a refund.

We really are all about our customers and we'll do anything to make any one of them happy. That is not BS and it never will be. You can't put a price on moments like this, when someone you've had the pleasure of doing business steps up and takes time out of their day to share how we're doing with total strangers. Thanks so much ziptie- you're a very good man and we are so very grateful.

Hey Hobojon!

I really don't know what I'm doing wrong here, but I can assure you we take customer service very seriously. Please, respond with your order number and I'll get a ticket and label going right now to get your stock back here and a refund issued! Then you can buy another ZK-22 for the other 10/22. Again, I'm terribly sorry if I've done anything to upset you! We just want to see that you have a positive experience with us! Thank you again,

Hey Hobojon-

We're all very anxious to get your order taken care of! Please respond here with your order number so we can process it now and everyone can see how we handle things at HTA. Unless of course, you never had an order number...

I sure hope that's not the case, because people could start drawing all kinds of conclusions then. Either way, we really do wish you all the best and if you need anything, you know where to reach us. God bless,

Andy and the team at HTA

I have to question the logic of spending more on a stock than the gun it goes on. Like a 2000 dollar car with 3000 spinners on it.

1 vote

I see what you're saying, and I too would question spending $3k on wheels for a car worth $2k. But hey, to each their own. I spent about $100 more on the HTA 90/22 stock than I did on my 10/22 rifle. I also spent almost as much as the 10/22 when I bought a new barrel so that I could SBR it. Oh yeah, and another $200 on a tax stamp. So, I could have had 4 stock 10/22s that I would rarely shoot or one bad ass PS90-clone that I shoot all the time. Like I said, to each their own.

Well put ziptiespec and thanks so much for your business! We get asked the same thing from time to time and our response is very much like yours. Moreover, the gun many guys shoot the most is their .22 anyway. I know I've fired way more .22 than any other caliber so why would I cut corners on the gun I'll actually be using? People have no problem dropping $2,000 on a "go-to" centerfire rifle that will sit in the safe waiting for that perfect situation. We just feel bad for that rifle!

Thanks again zip! We appreciate it!

I have both the ZK-22 and the High Tower Armory 90/22 and the ZK-22 is so much better. The High Tower Armory stock is very flimsy and feels like it is going to break in your hands. The ergonomics of the ZK-22 are much better too. The ZK-22 is very sturdy and can take the abuse of being used a lot. I use my ZK-22 for hunting, plinking, and small bore competition. My High Tower cracked after one trip to the range! Do yourself a favor and get the ZK-22!! It will last a lifetime!

I have no experience with the ZK-22 but I have HTA's 90/22 chassis and my experience has been the exact opposite. The 90/22 chassis feels as sturdy as the FN PS90. I know, I have both. Perhaps you got a bad example of the HTA product, and you should work with them to resolve that. As you see, HTA's customer service is exemplary.

Hello Steveo04234- Thank you very much for your business and my apologies if our stock didn't live up to your expectations. We use a very impact resistant and tough Nylon resin mixed with a high concentration of glass fiber reinforcement. This polymer is essentially the same used by other accessories manufacturers including Magpul among many others. From what we've seen online, the ZK-22 is probably made of a poly material (like milk jugs) or ABS (like plastic piping.) Most people who have handled both seem to be saying the exact opposite of your experience. This is entirely subjective of course and your opinion is the only one that matters to us. We guarantee your satisfaction for life and if we aren't providing you with the 100% satisfaction we promise, we'll definitely take it back and offer you a full refund. Please don't hesitate to call us or email us with any questions and thank you again for your business. All the best,

Pretty crappy to try and beat down your competitions superior product when you've only seen it online. I have both and the HTA is garbage compared to the Aklys. I'll make sure people know that in every HTA post, forever. Glad you have a 100% guarantee. I'll take advantage of it.

Hello hobojon!

Let me start by saying I'm sorry if we've done anything to offend you or anyone else in any way! We never, ever try to beat anyone down. There's no reason for that and in no way is that our intention. We try to live by the golden rule and conduct business accordingly.

We posted on this page in response to a comment made by another subscriber and we only want to demonstrate how badly we want people's business and most importantly, their trust. We want to show them how far we will go to stand behind everything we do 100%. That's why I posted, to show you and others how much you are valued as our customer and what your purchase means to us. We couldn't be in business without you and we are here to do whatever it takes to make you happy.

The only reference I made to the ZK-22 was what we had heard it was likely made out of based on what people who know plastics had written about them on the forums. I can in no way attest to this and that's why I said that it was not firsthand knowledge. I was merely citing this in response to a claim made that ours felt like it was cheap compared to the ZK. Again, everyone we've come across generally feels our material is of outstanding quality (same material used by Magpul and others), but as I also said before, this is highly subjective and it is YOU who we must please.

If we have failed irrevocably in that regard, you have my sincere apologies. One area I can assure you we will not fail you is in the area of service. Please feel free to email me with any questions at all or information about returning or exchanging the stock. We're happy to assist in any and all ways! You have my email if you'd like to reach out that way, or please feel free to respond with your order number and we can reach out to you. Thank you again for your business and my apologies for any inconvenience. All the best,

Andy and the team at HTA

This is one of HTA's alt accounts. They are trying incredibly hard to discredit thee Aklys stock. if you get the two side by side and open them up it's obvious the HTA is inferior. It's meant to be a PS90 clone so they prob had design constraints but it is what it is. One major point- the material used for the body of an Aklys stock looks and feels just like that used in a Pelican case. The body of the HTA is made of a material more resembling of a cheap Plano gun case. I have both in front of me and an unbiased opinion. You could fix the trigger of the HTA by slipping a bushing over the end of coat hanger where it lays in the trigger guard to take up the 1.5" of trigger free play that exists. The rod still flexes under pressure though.

Close... but actually the account "hobojon" is our alt account- we post a bunch of clearly untrue and negative stuff on it and then wait for our customers to come to our defense. It's a pretty cool strategy and based on several recent posts, it seems to be working exactly as planned!

To all of you that fell for it and took time out of your day to show your support, you have our sincerest gratitude... seriously. It means everything.

Thanks so much,
