AR-15 Assembled Upper Receiver 16 Mid-Length w/ FSB
Cartridge: 5.56 mm NATO
Finish: Black
Style: Assembled
Length: 16

Military-Style Carbine Upper With Enhanced Reliability
This AR-15 5.56mm 16" Mid-Length Upper Receiver from Aero Precision replicates the standard military M4 upper with one important addition. It has a longer, mid-length gas system that helps slow gas velocity for improved reliability in cycling (over the standard carbine gas system). You get same form-factor as an M4 with reduced risk of M4-type reliability problems.

The AR-15 5.56mm 16" Mid-Length Upper Receiver comes fully assembled, lacking only a charging handle and bolt/carrier group, for shooters who prefer to choose those components to suit your specific needs. The 16" barrel of high-grade chrome-moly-vanadium carbon steel has a tough, corrosion- and scratch-resistant black QPQ finish (all other steel parts are Parkerized). It’s chambered for 5.56mm NATO military ammunition, so it will safely handle civilian .223 Remington ammo too.

- Forged 7075 T6 aluminum receiver, hardcoat anodized, matte black
- Ejection port cover & forward assist installed
- MID-LENGTH gas system
- Pinned gas block/front sight base with bayonet lug
- .250" dia. pivot/takedown pin holes
- Bolt/carrier group & charging handle NOT included
- Twist rate: 1-7

Wrapped around the Aero Precision AR-15 5.56mm 16" Mid-Length Upper Receiver’s barrel is an extra-length (to cover the longer gas tube) M4-style polymer handguard with a standard A2 flash hider parked up front on the business end.

You need to run an h3 buffer or a full rifle stock with this. I bought it. Not one malfunction. 500 rounds.

Finally got mine shooting MOA after a month of having it. I had to hand load. It's getting one and a half inch groups with factory ammo.

Lifetime warranty. Lol Democrats will put all gun makers and parts companies out of business. Your warranty is worthless.

Wow. Seems like you really committed to that one.

I just ordered this going to get the toolcraft black nitride because it has no question asked lifetime warranty for my bolt carrier group and I'm going to make me an m4 carbine reproduction!

Wouldn’t you want a “carbine” gas system then? Just sayin’

Which one has less recoil? Genuinely curious, and still trying to understand gas systems

mid-length is longer so has less recoil. trade off is that it might not be as reliable as carbine

Carbine length on a 16" barrel is terribly over gassed with a 9" dwell. Mid length drops dwell to 7", reducing recoil and wear, and keeps the rifle cleaner. Less gas blowing out the back of the receiver into your face as well.

Depends on the barrels gas port diameter, the gas block, and the gas tube.
There is math for it but I'm not going into gas flow dynamics in a simple response box like this one.
It just all depends on if the engineer knew his shit when he drew up the CAD program for the CNC.
It's a Ballistic Advantage barrel (aero owns them) so I'd say yea, it's probably just fine, they do good barrel work.

This. This is the truth. I have a Windham Weaponry with carbine length gas system, and that thing shoots like a dream because those folks know how to appropriately size the gas port. My PSA mid length uppers recoil harder than my 300 blackout pistol with adjustable gas block. It’s all in how much gas actually gets back to drive the bolt. The system length is only the mechanism.

I used a full rifle A2 stock. Brass ejects at 3:00. Very pleasant. When I get my collapsible stock. I will use h3 buffer and remove weight as needed.
