It's about time the piston driven AR15 rifle systems got in line with the price range of the gas blowbacks. This is gonna be a fun new range gun if I find out they really do stay cleaner.

I bought one of their "Blemished" guns back in 2015 for $599. It was a reliable gun but the cam pin was slightly large which would produce a disturbing amount of aluminum shavings from the upper receiver. It always ran 100% though and I haven't heard of other AAs with the same problem. I would be in for another at $550 if I had room in the safe!

P.S figuring out a 2-point sling was problematic since there's no front attach point. I ended up drilling a 1/2" hole in the handguard and placing an IWC flush QD mount.

I replaced the cam pin on mine with this: https://hydra-fire.us/...

I saw a bunch of shavings too, but that seemed to get rid of them

Where did you find the mid length tactical evo for $629 if you don't mind me asking?

I bought one of these a few months ago, paid 599 from DEGuns and still feel it was a bargain.Piston AR's normally run about 300 more than regular AR's,and Adams Arms has a solid rep for quality, just check the interweb.Finding a handguard was fairly easy, just got a Midwest Industries one.
I've been upgrading other parts like the stock and pistol grip and tomorrow I'm going to shoot it for the first time. Can't wait!

30 April update:
My wife and I took the rifle to the range and ran more than 300 rounds through it and it purred like a kitty.Accuracy was'nt too hot,I need to buy a boresight laser and zero in my optic and iron sights.

Overall I'm satisfied with this rifle and I'm glad I got it when it was on sale.

$550 for a piston AR? Can anyone say winning?

My wallet has never cried as much as it has the last 6 months

Oh and one more fun fact. Christiansen Arms uses Adams Arms Pistons in their $3k-$5K AR's in 556 and 308. That's speaks volumes about their piston systems. Also, Adams has been doing piston longer than pretty much anyone else in AR's and it's the inky thing they do. In fact their piston "kit" was the gold standard for years. This means they know Pistons extremely well and are highly regarded in the industry by other manufactures. Thus I am not sure why anyone would think they are crap. Not to mention a lifetime warrenty. Just a couple of facts for those wanting useful feedback.... The only downside for me is the short stroke piston system as I prefer long stroke. But that's more personal perspective. Long stroke feels smoother and doesn't have the metal on metal friction most short stroke AR guns produce. But ther are plenty of high quality short stroke systems used by LWRC, POF and Sig. Which I actually have a 716 and do like other than its weight. But sig has a lighter weight version coming out this year.

Oh and mine was FL... I only ran a couple mags through it but it ran well and I got aroumd 2 inch groups at 100 yards with ball ammo which isn't bad. I ran it supressed and the gas adjustment worked very well. The quality on these guns is very nice compared to others in this price range. For example I have a radical firearms and smith/Wesson. The attention to detail and finish was much better with Adams arms. Especially over the radical firearms. The smith was fairly close but the Adams arms just looked cleaner if that makes sense. Now I did have the mid tactile version but I assume the upper/lower/LPK/bolt are the same on this model. The barrel was much nicer but not sure if this version has the same one as the mid tactical evo. If so than this version is a steal at this price point. Plus it's light for a piston fun. If you want to add a rail
They list option that work on the Adams arms website. There's also a good video on this version from Nutnfancy which I didn't see until after I sold it:(

I owned the mid tactical elite 16 inch version. Comes with Samson furniture and a few other upgrades. If you watch buds has them for $860 on occasion. I think the gun is fairly similar minus a low pro gas block and the furniture/rail upgrades. This seems like a solid price of you don't want the extras. Only down side is the resell. I had a hard time getting $800 which you would
think would be easy as the mid tactile elite goes for around $1250 usually. I wish I would not have gotten rid of it now but took delivery of a PWS mk1 mod2 in same caliber so didn't need two piston guns with same barrel length and caliber. I will say I love my PWS but I paid $1550 for that from buds as well so it's double the price.

I own this rifle. LOVE IT! Now it is a PAIN in the butt when you want to find a rail! I paid $620 for mine a year ago. GREAT BUY!

I picked up a Midwest Industries Gen2 drop-in quad rail and it installed in about 30 seconds. Ran me $124.99. Looks great and is solid as a rock on my Adams Arms AR.

Can you tell me if the lower receiver is stamped "Odessa FL" or "Palm Harbor FL"

Price is actually $589, not $598, but shipping is $30 ($14.95 shipping + $14.95 shipping "fee"). It's also cheaper than the blems that Buds was selling a while back. I'm happy with my Adams Arms rifle. Good deal if you're in the market for a piston AR.

Have two, like them a lot. Piston system for under $700. Have been reliable for me. Use with Specwars and Omegas.
Encourage you to check buffer tube (extension) upon arrival. One of mine won't hold the stock on the tube during normal rapid extension/deployment of butt stock. Stock comes completely off in your hand, but then requires a screw driver or other fine-tipped object to depress the spring that permits it to slide back on. PITA.
Appears to be slight defect in the milling of the most distal hole in the tube. It's mil spec diameter, but won't retain the original cheap stock or an aftermarket Magpul STR. Contacted AA by email last week. Prompt reply indicated they would send me free replacement buffer tube. Haven't heard back since I sent them my shipping info. We'll see.

Received email from Adams Arms today. Copy of a $0.00 invoice marked "paid." And description of a mil spec buffer tube with a shipping tracking number. Impressive. I just told them about my issue--it was ZERO hassle, I didn't have to mess with sending a photo or proof of purchase, etc. I'll be a repeat customer. Good first experience with their customer service. A+

I got one of those 'blems' they were selling a while back for $599. I only run quality brass 5.56 and I've never had a failure of any kind. Ever.

I've got a mid-length Adams Arms rifle and have put well over ten thousand rounds through it without issues... I'd love to hear specifically why they're "broken".....?

I had one. It wasnt bad, it just wasnt good either. The piston system gains you no tangible benefit, just adds parts to fail/lose and increases weight. "Oh, but it keeps your bolt cleaner". Who cares, throw some motor oil on that bitch and run it.

Adams arms = broken

Don't buy this crap.
