There's a set of optional check boxes right under the description for adding a charging handle and BCG for $119 and or a magwell block adaptor for using standard lowers for $90.

What? Who wrote this description.... T6 aluminum, slick side upper unique to the pistol caliber... since when, and what 9mm upper doesn't use a blow back gas system? Why not skip the meaningless jargon and give me some actual info, like does the upper come with a bolt and charging handle?

I think you have a couple of things confused. Practically all affordable pistol caliber AR pattern rifles/pistol use direct blow back INSTEAD of a traditional AR gas system. (CMMG has a radial delayed blow back line, and SIG's MPX uses a fully closed and rotating bolt and piston gas system. Both of these options are a little spendy.)

Some pistol caliber uppers have a downsized ejection port since the 9mm/.40/.45/10mm have shorter cases than 5.56/.223. And many pistol caliber BCG don't have forward assist serrations, so a lot of pistol caliber uppers are "slick side" meaning they cannot accept a forward assist. (Personally, I prefer to forego the forward assist on all of my AR uppers regardless of caliber, but YMMV.)
