Description

The AK-47 is a miraculous contraption. Unquestionably the greatest thing the Soviets have ever given the world, the rifle is famous for its ability to chug down steel case ammo like a frat boy would cherry vodka during frosh week. But unlike the frat boy, the AK’s chugging won’t harm it!

This 7.62x39 cartridge comes from MAXXTech’s Essential Steel label, and it is made in Russia at Amursk Cartridge Plant Vympel which produces up to 300 million rounds annually. The round sports a 124 grain full metal jacket boat tail bullet – strong for reliable feeding, and tapered at the base to preserve greater velocity downrange. This round’s bullet is without question magnetic, so please pick your indoor ranges accordingly.

In true Russian fashion this round sports a steel case. It is lacquered to guard it against the elements and smooth it out for easier extraction from a semi-auto, and sealed at the neck and mouth for even greater resistance to moisture infiltration. Steel is of course no good for reloading, but let us ask you – have you ever picked up your spent cases with a magnet instead of stooping over for them?

This round has a Berdan primer, but because it is new production it is 100 percent non-corrosive. No need to steep your AK in hot, soapy water here!
