I almost bought a bolt and barrel in 5.45x39. I was looking up ammo prices and noticed them rapidly coming up last week. Thinking it was maybe due to the three day weekend I expected the prices to be back down this week lol. Then I started reading a bit more and found our that horse shit they pulled. My only real reason for the build was cheap ammo. This is more expensive than 7.62x39. So I'm gonna build one of those. Damn shame that some POS ruined it. That asshole should be shunned by the firearms community for life and until he ends up in financial ruin, turning tricks as a tranny.

ak74 will shoot flatter and less recoil than an Ak47 and your wife or kids will much prefer it for the less recoil.

I wonder if new production 5.45 will eventually come down to the price of new 7.62x39 now that 7n6 is gone... it will probably take a few years IF it ever happens...

I don't think so, new production 5.45x39 was always more than 7.62x39, now that they don't even have to compete with suprlus 5.45, price will only go up from here....too bad, my bulgarian AK74 was my favorite rifle...cheap ammo made it even more awesome...

Well the reason I think that new production 5.45 will come down in price was because before the ban on 7n6, it was kind of a niche market- i.e. the only people wanting to buy non-corosive were the people who cared more about keeping there rifle spotless then the cost of the ammo. because of that, there really wasn't a market for the ammo. now that there is a much bigger market, manufacturers that weren't interested in will have to compete for market share which SHOULD drive prices down.

I agree. I think that 5.45x39 will be the same value as 7.62x39. Also it will be economy of scale when these manufacturers start producing more due to increase demand so the cost to manufacture each round will go down.
