Why do they have to price gouge?! They are so damn greedy!

I ordered some ammo in July for August ship date and it arrived like 2/3 days after the expected ship date. They do Email you if there’s a delay and if you don’t respond they cancel. So you asshats need to read your shit

I concur, say what you want about this "shit-show/shady" company but they fulfilled my 2k rounds of 62 gr steel core I placed back in July. Got the shipment today. no upcharge/change in price either ($.404/rnd - which is better than .75+ from PSA and others...) AND they ended up mischarging me for shipping so I called them up and they refunded me $20. Patience. I know it's hard to find these days but that's where we are at. Good luck!

Yes at first with Sportsman’s Guide it was a nightmare to order ammo around April & May, the first order I put in did get cancelled after I replied to the email confirmation of the shipment date being pushed back, BUT since then I’ve put in another 3 new orders in the past 2 months and I already received 2 of 3 of my orders. Yes the estimated ship date was estimated in November but within 4-6 weeks of waiting I received my ammo. I don’t really care about waiting because Sportsman’s won’t charge you until the product “Ammo” is shipped out

Sportsman's Guide is trash. Like others have mentioned, they cancelled nearly all my orders despite me confirming that I was fine with waiting. Of course they then relisted everything at a higher price. Never ordering from them again.

I will gladly buy what you guys don't want and I have placed my order already. In November when the price is double you will complain about that too. Am I thrilled with the backorders, no, but I would rather have it on BO and get it in November when shelves will still be empty and the price will be more.

What is the harm in ordering? You don't get it, no harm, no foul, you do get it, bonus!

That's what I said when I had a case of 9mm and 7.62x39 backordered from March. They sent an email a month later asking if I wanted to keep my backorder. I confirmed that I did. A month after that they cancelled the order. Customer support said I would have to remake the order - except at the newer price, of course. Not that I could because it went from backorder to simply unavailable. I could have sourced the ammo from elsewhere instead of waiting for an order that would never come.

Agreed, I placed an order too. They don't charge your card until they ship the ammo, so nothing to lose and you can cancel your order at anytime.

This company sucks balls!!! They lie and never have crap in stock!!! They want you to sign up to there “Backstock Scam”, they publish eta dates when it will be in stock just to postpone it further!!! They suck!!!!!

I’ve been waiting for 260 rds of wolf gold to ship since March. This is one of the shadiest companies out there.

They’ve backordered and then quietly canceled almost all the ammo I ordered from them. I missed out buying elsewhere because they said they would be able to fulfill backorders.

Don't waste you time with this "Shit-show" company. They are just selling wolf tickets.

Yeah I'm done with sportsmansguide . My last couple of orders said in stock and it wasn't. What a waste of time.

Sportsman's needs a loan for 6 months while the stuffs on backorder. After that they'll cancel.

Ordered wolf gold and Fiocchi from them in March for .29 per/rd. It’s been delayed 3 times and is currently expected in October. One of the orders was cancelled outright.

This has been common practice with sportsman's guide and bass pro. I get my ammo from SGAMMO.COM only place that comes through everytime for me.

I think it's a great price. But they wont ship to NY residents. Although doing so doesn't violate the law.

I got this same ammo from them 2 days ago for 50.00 cheaper. * lake city 5.56 was 50 cheaper. This is .223. WOW

I will say though at cabelas today they had the same ammo for 497.00 BEFORE tax on the shelf.

This whole ammo situation has turned into one of the biggest jokes in history. All caused by us... the consumer.

We all want ammo and want to be able to shoot but prices aren't going to drop until we stop paying these prices.

There may be a little more going on.....EPA closing the last US lead smelter, large purchases of ammo by the Fed's civilian agencies.....

I would disagree with the blaming of "us" and tell you to look no further than the 51% of low information voters who voted for the most liberal, anti-2nd Amendment, president in the history of our Republic. My ammo supply was/is in great shape before and after Sandy Hook. Market forces(supply and demand) , greed of some retailers, and fear are all involved. I'll agree to part of the blame on consumers just don't put "all" the blame on the consumer.

How can you not blame the consumer? Once again most gun owners went into a panic thinking that ammo was just going to stop being made. I'd like to think that after multiple times of this same scenario playing out that people would have learned but it will happen again and as times before it will be worse than this last time.

I totally understand people running out buying up all the AR rifles and high capacity mags. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a ban on high capacity mags in 2-3 years.

But people maxing out credit cards, pulling thousands of dollars out of their 401ks to clear shelves of ammo was ridiculous and unnecessary .

It was the consumer. plain and simple. No way around it.

On a side note .. I went into my local wal-mart today and they had a big sign up saying you could buy as much ammo as you want EXCEPT for .22 LR. Still only 1 box.

That's a very encouraging sign.

The Guide seems to be losing their edge on ammo prices.

SG is loosing their edge on other items besides ammo. I also discovered they screen their product reviews. Reviews of 3 stars are not making it to the web !!

It would have made it if it simply an accurate review, that didn't comment on their prices being bad...

I bought 1k rounds of brass 223 about a month before Obama was elected for his first term. Price was $240 out the door. To what reason can they justify this price?

I payed 428.28 out the door

2 votes

that sucks. this at best $350 for a case, still 20-25% OVERPRICED.... This isnt even 5.56 NATO. looks like Sportsmans guide has committed itself to price gouging

5 votes
3 votes

The price I'm seeing is $427.49 member or
$449.99 or non-member

That's still steep for .223, I would pay that for 5.56 if I needed it.

The funny part of your comment is YOU are the one living in the past. This isn't last October people! I would love $240 -350 for a case... so will one of you smart shoppers please post up a link? I haven't seen those prices for... well, all year.
Agreed we'd all like to see it lower, but stop crapping all over the current reality if you can't post something better. By now, many have shot their stash from pre-Obama and need to buy ammo.

Terrible price! They typically have had decent pricing. This isn't one.

Agreed. This is horrible for Sportsman's Guide. They just delivered 1000 rds of 62gr X-TAC tmd last week for $390.07 and it could have been cheaper had I not forgotten to use the $10 off coupon they sent with my previous order. One things for sure, they aren't pricing it like this because it's not selling. Idiots are buying.
