The 17 Design & Manufacturing AR15 Stripped Lower Receiver is the perfect base for your AR15 build. Machined to mil-spec dimensions, their lowers work with standard AR15 components and ensure the highest quality and parts interchangeability.
Additional features:
- Upper tensioning screw- allows user to fine tune the fit of the upper and lower through the use of a nylon tipped tensioning set screw in the grip tang of the receiver.
- Flared magwell angle- Wider angles in the magwell allow a more flared feel without increasing the width/footprint of the lower receiver.

Brownells sucks

Picked mine up yesterday, and I'm extremely satisfied. The quality looks to be exceptional. I can't wait for the rest of the parts to arrive.

I want one . This is actually a very good lower . The mag well is left blank on purpose so you can inscribe it. The trigger well is machined to accept a full auto kit . Most manufacturers leave the shelf so it cannot be drilled , Lol .

Plus $10 for their ridiculous FFL fee. But thanks for the in stock notification.

Could be worse. California is $35 for the FFL fee

This is a good choice. At this price, it would have been hard to beat, when prices were rock-bottom.

Where is a cheaper billet in stock? You can either pay the regular price for billet or save $35 and pay 3x what the forged price usually is. They function exactly the same and I much prefer the look of billet. For people starting out that don’t have a bunch of spare parts you’ll need to factor in a trigger guard (preferably a winter one for around $20) and then the bolt catch and rear takedown detent is way easier to install with the billet as well (newbies will usually scratch their receiver drifting the roll pin in for the bolt catch). To each their own.

Newer to the building game, is the LPK the same for both? I have a forged complete lower that I broke, and I’m looking to keep the internals to put into a new lower

Same parts. You just won’t use a roll pin with your bolt catch and won’t need a trigger guard. It’s also nicer because most billets have a retaining screw for the rear takedown pin so you don’t have to worry about losing your spring if you ever took the castle nut off. I used to use forged and there is nothing wrong with it but the last few years I switched exclusively to billet. For the few dollar difference it makes a big cosmetic change. I’ve blown $50 on way worse things.

Yes, they’ll fit interchangeably between mil-spec forged & billet lowers.

Broken trigger guard ear?

Yup yup. Helping a friend put together his lower and punched off the ear. Tried to back it out and punched out the other.
At that point I gave him one of my lowers

Look into the trigger guards in the future: https://www.aeroprecisionusa.com/billet-trigger-guard-anodized.
Also, Daniel defense makes pistol grips with integral trigger guards so you may be able to save that lower. Anyways, shit happens. Cheers.

I’ve never seen billet lowers cheaper even when the market comes back to normal. The only better deal was with JoeBob’s if you buy 3 at a time. I also like the idea of the tension screw. I already have more lowers than I’ll need but I don’t see how this is a bad deal in any market.
