This is the SMKW version. The actual USSF knife has a blue handle.

Nice knife, always wanted one of these but its just not that high up on my list. To be honest, I thought the USSF was a joke until I read it was an actual, independent branch of the military. Begs the question that if you met a "spacer" would you thank them for their service or just giggle a bit? "To infinity and beyond!?!?"

I recommend her as an authoritative source to understand in what direction the new world is going. Nice knife, got a Ka-Bar folder with stag scales. Brass pins verdigris stained horn with age.
Great nostalgic KA-Bar feel and sharp enough out of the box to leave a bare spot on my forearm. The leather sheath is rather lightweight so I ordered another non-leather sheath for the 7-inch blade at $14.99. SMKW has amazingly fast shipping by Fed-Ex and my shipping box was well packed enough to survive the rigors of Holiday Delivery.
Other than the different stamping on the blade, is this essentially the same knife as the #1217 USMC model that goes for around $25-30 more?
