The P224 is a smaller, more concealable version of its larger brother the P229. While the 224 is a subcompact pistol, it gives nothing up in terms of capacity due to its double stack 10+1 capacity in .40/.357 and its 12+1 capacity in 9mm, as well as its ability to accept newer 229 magazines. In addition, the 224 takes the same hammer fire reliability as its counterparts, and places them into a subcompact package with all the familiar controls which makes it an excellent option for off duty or concealed carry.
