I kicked myself when Buds had them on special and I kept saying tomorrow. I owned World Gyms, and am retired now, for me, it's too much with the 357's in it and I am carrying 43 yrs, every day, and started the first 20, shooting revolvers only. Everyone on One of the larger forums got one when they hit, about 5-10 yrs ago.
But most all sold them or went with +p's. You are right about 1 shot, by the time you reset, a guy with a 9mm will have killed you, unless your first shot hit the upper chest or head. Can't beat the 357 for stopping things, but I stick with 45's now. I think that's why Buds blew them out, good luck.

SWEET!!! Thank you! I've been looking for one of these for like a week now and basically figured I'd never see the non-lock version without CT grips to boot. This is EXACTLY what I wanted down to a tee.

I've never ordered from Sportsman Outdoor Superstore but they seem to get good ratings (was watching for one on Grabagun in TX and Joebobs here in KS since I somewhat know the dude and he's local to me). I've been itching to get another J-Frame since I sold my last one.

I'm sure shooting full-house 357 through a 13oz pistol sucks but you may only get 1 chance... It wouldn't be the first time I've down-loaded 357 practice ammo to shoot in a snubby before working my way up to factory loads. I used to do this with my single stage press for my SP101 so I didn't end up having to setup another die set or cut a burn ring into the revolver with 38 spl.

I had a 637CT (version with the hammer and CT grips). Both the hammer and CT grips were useless for what this thing is made for (up close and personal). Mine will be a BUG for my EDC Glock 19.

And NO, you don't "NEED" a laser unless you are nearly legally blind. Especially when it comes with XS night sights. XS night sights are like normal night sights on steroids. I specifically sold my 637CT with LASER with the intent to upgrade to a pistol without a hammer or the LASER that I could throw in my gym clothes and workout with.

I've had 3 CT laser grips (which are by far the best pistol laser grips on the market if you must have them) and I have yet to see a need for them that night sights couldn't do better. They've always shown up as an add-on from the factory (Special Ed. Smith Pro-Series 1911 love the gun, hate the grips; Kimber CT package deal< my Smith Pro-Series and E-Series 1911's kick the shit out of these for reliability; and finally a Smith 637CT J-Frame that I sold.

#1: The LASER is a PITA to clean optics on after you clean the pistol. You either have to take the grips off or try and keep the lens covered when you are cleaning them, then use the little swab to clean the lens anyway.

#2: The LASER refracts all to hell once you get a little sweat on it from actually carrying the thing. As stated, this is a "gym gun"/BUG for me, so it got sweat on a lot.

#3. The damn LASER for these little models point directly into your trigger finger unless you swing the pistol around with your booger hook buried in the bang switch guard like a common idiot.

#4: Have you seen how well idiots with lasers shoot??? Jesus Christ, it's like amateur tryout day at the Special Olympics once the lasers start showing up at the ranges. The ceilings, the floors, the walls; nothing is safe from these tactiqueers.

its less than a 2 inch barrel, do you really need a laser?

Short sight radius, all the more reason to need a laser

Always been an expensive gun since they came out almost 20 yrs ago. They go for a grand with a CT laser on them, Look around, just don't try shooting a 12 oz. gun with full load 357's or you will suffer great pain. Everyone I know, "a lot of ex cops", who bought these, sold them, or ended up with an expensive 38+p gun.

Yeah I keep thinking I want one of these but then I already have a .38 S&W 638 J-frame, and since .357 is such a handful in a J-frame there is no point really for me.

Down-load for practice ammo if you have a press and the dies. Work your way up unless you have arthritis or something. I plan on the whole experience not being pleasant IF I have to use this thing for self defense...

I would pick one up used, as I mentioned most guys don't keep these long unless they go to the back of the safe. Lat year Buds blew them out at 5 hundred bucks on a close out but otherwise it's too rich for my blood. A 40 cal shield or Kahr will accomplish the same end with 2 or 3 extra rounds.
