Description

Rock River Arms, the leader in specialized Modern Sporting Rifles, has developed a 5.56mm semi-auto that advances the clean, trim look and performance of the monolithic-style upper receiver/handguard design. The RRAGE Carbine builds on Rock River Arms' new extruded flat top upper receiver. Matched to the receiver is a 6061T aluminum free-float handguard that blends almost seamlessly with the upper to provide an elegant, unitized profile and balanced strength and rigidity across the optics platform. The carbine length handguard boasts a full-length MS1913 top rail and features the popular M-LOK rail configuration for easy accessory adaptation. The M-LOK system along the side and bottom surfaces lets shooters run a clean handguard or add only the rail accessories needed to help maintain a sleek, snag-free signature.

Man, on a 16” barrel with carbine gas length, that is one short-looking handguard without the front sight post.

This is Rock River's version of a "spare parts build". Extruded 6061 slick-side uppers were fairly common on budget ARs, starting about 2008. By 2015 they were bargain bin items. The 1:9 twist barrels hit the bargain bins around 2016. I've seen M4 style stocks for $4, and A2 grips for $0.50. So how do you sell an AR that is made with parts nobody has wanted for years??? First, you give it a Bad Ass name. Then you spend a few dollars on hydro-dip black camo, and install your cheapest M-Lok handguard. Alakazam! You have a $799 POS.

Not that far off of an assessment, albeit a little negative.

Negative is gonna be anyones opinion after shooting such an obviously overgassed POS.
Way too much dwell time (bullet still in bore pushing gas thru gasblock) with too short gas system for barrel length.
To make it work the gas port would have to be tiny...so tiny it would clog every time you shot the damn thing.
So now you'd have slow gas speed....so that would require a very light buffer spring with a light buffer.
Yea, the guns a mess.
