Additionally, it comes with tall back up sights that can be used with a red dot installed and a Tritium/fiber optic front sight. The slide is milled for direct attachment of JPoint and Shield style micro dot sights. This 9mm sub compact pistol features a slim and lightweight polymer frame with an enhanced grip texture and a hardened steel fire control chassis that helps improve rigidity and accuracy. The cold hammer forged barrel also features improved durability and precise rifling to further aid accuracy and longevity of the firearm. The Ruger Max 9 is also built with safety in mind. It features an integrated trigger safety, internal firing pin blocker, loaded chamber inspection port, and a manual thumb safety on the left side of the frame.
