I saw one of these for sale locally for even less than this price, it included 100 rounds of ammo. RAS-12 ammunition can still be found at a few merchants, but once the supply is sold out, this upper becomes a large paperweight.

Intrepid screwed themselves by not allowing royalty free RAS-12 ammo production. They tried following Alexander Arms business model and it bit them in the @ss.

I bet these people would still be in business if they made an upper that took STANDARD shells. I would rather buy a 20 ga/410 upper than a 12 gauge where only ONE COMPANY on the PLANET makes the ammo….even if these were still in production.

I feel bad for the poor bastards that buy these not knowing the ammo supply is finite.

Its not the standard shells that did them in, it's their greed that did. They refused to remove their royalties for the ammo production. In fact, in some ways, this ammo in the way it feeds is a good system, but greed got in their way and it was the beginning of the end for them.

Sometimes great products get sidelined by manufacturers trying to catch every penny, and that makes no sense to catch pennies when it's raining dollars.

I can see this becoming a "Curio and Relic" upper in a decade or two. It'll be an investment now. They'll probably be $2000 in 10 years. Ammo will probably inflate to $10 or more per round as supply dries up.

Did you buy Beanie Babies too? Caus, I don't think you have this cunning plan thought out all the way...

These uppers just need to go away. In for two when they hit $20

If one was to buy this, I suggest buying ammo now while its still available.

Noticed Impact has ammo in stock, maybe Buds as well.

As noted by other posters - the company is out of business and nobody is producing ammo for it.

**ALERT!!** The company that makes this does not appear to be in business any longer! Intrepid Tactical's website no longer exists and I cannot find any working contact info for them. BE VERY CAREFUL BUYING THESE. Since the ammo is proprietary you may find yourself with a useless upper in the near future, and if it breaks you are SOL.

What shells does this use, that are so special? Link? Shorter or narrower? Super curious as a hunting upper to go on an AR10 (DPMS gen 1 I suppose) would be interesting...

I guess I'll stick with the MKA 1919 and the BR-99. Same look but I can get the shells at Wally World.

This will be useless when Intrepid goes out of business.
"Lets re-design the 12 gauge shotgun shell & make em 3 bucks each" said nobody ever.......

Too bad the cheapest ammo this thing actual feeds is about $3 per round. That's why this thing had a msrp of 1500, was selling for 1200 and is now plummeting around 700. If this ate regular 12 gauge I would be all over it.

You, me, and everybody else included! Shame they couldn't engineer it to work with regular 12 ga shells... I'm sure it can be done, probably not easy although Saiga, BR99, MKA 1919, Vepr all do it..

I'm betting some one has adressed that shot shell feeding issue by now. I would be willing to bet they are trying to clear out this version before the bring a working Mk II to market.
