Now you can get a proven Spike's Tactical Lightweight M16 BCG Coated in Nickel Boron!
If you’re looking for the finest BCG on the market today, search no more! This is the same Mil-Spec BCG that we sell but the only difference is that it’s coated in Nickel Boron. And yes, it’s High Pressure Tested and Magnetic Particle Inspected (HPT/MPI)
Nickel Boron has proven itself to be the most durable finish on the market. It’s much smoother than Hard Chrome, it’s easier to clean, makes the rifle cycle smoother, it can be run almost lube free for thousands of rounds, and it will never chip, peal, or flake off! Because of these benefits, Nickel Boron is being adopted by the Military as well as many Government agencies. As you can see, these BCGs are a huge improvement over a standard Phosphate BCG and it’s even an improvement over Hard Chrome.
Upgrade to a better BCG today. You won’t be sorry!

I think they are missing their target audience with this.
They need to dye the carrier pink and include $5 worth of loose rhinestones, shiny buttons and assorted tiny trinkets and a can of Elmers glue.
They can rename it the 'Spike's Barbie Doll holy moley BCM `limited edition', then charge at least $499
Adjustable gas would matter more, but it sure does look cool! I'd like to see a lightened one for my .308. Thats one heavy SOB!
These arn't that much of a weight savings....
What's the appropriate application for this? 40gr bullets out of a 1:14 barrel?
Why is the seller giving my question a down vote?
Because I don't know how to use this damn thing lol. Sorry about that. These lightweight BCG's aren't the only thing we're selling. Checkout our online store www.RightToBear.com...
Wouldn't the buffer spring matter more?
The theory behind it is less reciprocating mass= less felt recoil. Of course you'd have to fine tune your gas system to function properly.
F = m (d2x/dt2) + c (dx/dt) + k (dx) + (constant)
It is a system, so the spring rate does also matter. But that doesn't answer what the proper application is for this light of a bolt carrier.
Based on your first question, you seem to be asking about stabilizing the bullet, however you posted the general form for a differential equation describing a forced oscillator. Are you interested in knowing what happens to the bullet as it leaves the muzzle, or the displacement of the bolt carrier as it acts against the buffer? FYI - your equation would be the starting point for describing the latter.
My first question was not at all about bullet stabilization. It was asking the appropriate application for the product. I then asked about a very specific example.
The equation was a response to someone else
If your first question was not about bullet stabilization, why did you ask about the twist rate? In fact, you specified not only a twist rate but a bullet weight as well. How could your question NOT be about bullet stabilization?
Appropriate application? I'll give you a hint, the application is for an AR-15 rifle chambered in either .223, 5.56 or .300 Blackout.
You should get some sort of credit for google-ing a differential equation. Either that or you are on chapter one of a 300 level dynamics course you are going to have to "withdrawl failing" after spring break because you waste too much time on the internet.
The mass of the bolt and carrier should be matched to the bullet mass, bullet velocity and barrel. People that shoot 62grn+ bullets at typical (military spec) velocities from a 1:7 barrel tend to run heavier carriers. To completely write out the question: is this product meant for the application of 40grn bullets from a 1:14 barrel?
Ask a non pertinent question, receive no answer.
You tried to impress us, but it didn't work out for you. Oh well, there is always next semester.
It just makes the rifle lighter and allows the weapon to cycle more quickly
