I received my 10 cans. Packed loose in a box with no padding but appeared undamaged.
3 were USA made Black Hawk. 7 were China made XX brand. China ones have inferior seals.
I sent an inquiry to CS about the discrepancy and will wait to see what they say.

Just got my four in the mail. Thumbs up. Now wish I'd ordered ten. I skipped the "Game Winner" cans and went with these because they were made in the USA.

Originally stickered at $19.99 but I'll admit, if I had to pay $20 for a can, I'd want it to be one of these.

Stamped 13 M2A1 S.C.F on end. Welds are solid. Lid is tight fitting. Rubber seal is fresh and seals all the way around. Paint is even inside and out, smells like an old inner tube. Edges are rolled for strength and dullness . As stated, the lids are completely removable with pinned hinges. Even the floor plate is recessed so if you stack them, the carry handle of the lower box fits into the upper to remain stable. Attention to detail, pretty slick.

Plain and simple, quality is quality and I couldn't imagine a better made can for even twice the money. $10ea shipped was a fucking steal. For those of you guys that got these, I'm sure you're as happy as I am. This was truly a rare and legitimate slick deal.

I was going to make just about the same comment, but you summed it up well.

All I'll add is that my five all sealed well...they made a vacuum, sucking sound when I opened them. They were shipped from GA to CO.

The only negative was Academy's packing job... not so good, but whatever, they are ammo cans!

Not so good? Their packing job was horrible. They basically shipped mine in a VERY oversized box, no padding, and tossed them in like you would bag a set of legos. Ironically, my box size actually is considered "oversized" so they paid even more for that fedex ship rate ;) lol

OK, so maybe I was being a little kind with my comment of their packaging job...mine was no better.

For some reason, most retailers in the gun industry seem to do a horrible job when it comes to packaging. I've had PSA boxes arrive with a side blown out and items missing, a J&G C&R rifle packed next to a bayonet with no padding, etc. I've had car parts arrive that were better packaged than most gun parts.

I am pretty sure that you are confusing the other deal which they sold ammo cans (non-blackhawk! brand, they were called GameWinner) with no country or origin or description. Those were indeed made in China. Blackhawk! branded cans are sold at BassPro, GanderMountain, and various other stores as US GI cans with the M2A1 stamping and "made in the usa" decal (as seen in the picture of the store).

Blackhawk! sources their cans from ATK (Federal Ammunitions company) who supplies it to the Military.

If this can deal is indeed made in China and lacks the Blackhawk! product decals, then this store is false advertising and I will request for a full refund via card dispute. They indicated Blackhawk! brand in their title and product image used is of Blackhawk! can with "MADE IN THE USA" on it (their other $9.99 can doesn't say any of this information).

hate that mine were made in china but they look identical to USA except 3 letters stamped in back bottom

Well that blows. I can't say that I'm not going to be surprised if mine also says made in China when they arrive. The price is pretty low, but a bummer that it isn't made by a fellow American.

How is the quality?

I saw that, and it made me bite. Four NEW cans for $39.96 (no tax in OH) is the best I've ever seen.

EDIT: these get great reviews at BPS.....

Now I feel like a tool for thinking the $15 / can (+ shipping) deal at Gander Mountain posted last week was great.

Ordered more. I suck.

The GM ones are for sure mil-spec cans like the troops get. Are these?

Academy sells another can for $9.99:

A reviewer says they are NOT mil-spec. Hope these are. Anyone know for sure??

It's a stamped steel box with a rubber gasket on the lid, not a finely machined forging. Leave the Mil Spec obsession to the mall ninjas and just buy this on the basis that it's a good deal on a metal ammo tin.

Hopefully your right. It should be simple, but now we hear they are made in China. If there is anything this world has proven, it's that people often F up simple.
