Horrible product from a horrible country!!! I recently bought some IMI M193 5.56 55 gr. Averaged a blown primer every third to fourth round. Tried it in two different rifles that have both fired around a thousand rounds of 5.56 from 55 to 77 grain from several manufactures without issue. Took a couple hours to get all the primers out of the FCG's and barrel extensions on both rifles. Contacted Midway and they told me due to DOT regulations they could not accept a return on this ammo and gave me a link to the IMI website, so much for standing by what you sell and being honest with the customer! Now I'm sitting with several boxes of ammo I can't safely shoot and a NIB bolt with the finish eroded off.

Love IMI and anything that comes from our ally, Israel. Apple of God’s eye right there. No FTFs thus far and no jams.

Says for 1:12 twist or faster. Is 1:12 even an option anymore? Only rifle I can think of with that twist are vietnam era. Most of mine are 1:8 or 1:7, but maybe I missed that market

Great question!

not to be a dick, but the lower the number, the faster the twist rate. 1:7 and 1:8 ARE faster than 1:12. If your barrel is 16" the bullet will fully turn twice in a 1:8 vs a little more than 1 turn in a 1:12. IWI will run in anything with the appropriate chamber, and their cases are THE BEST, provided the primers aren't staked.

I know 1:7 and 1:8 are faster twists but I forgot about barrel length. A longer barrel might have a 1:12. Makes sense when you put it that way, although I don’t see many slower twist for sale. Thanks for the reply.

Lapuua cases are way better but cost 3-4x as much.
Kinda fond of StarLine too.

I have bought Starline for 45R, 308, 45colt, 460Row and 10mm. I just really like the way iwi anneals the shoulder right from the start. If they ever make a 5.45x39 brass case I will sell my car (or a kidney) and buy them out.

1:12 was the standard for the M16 (XM16E1) pre A1 and the A1 model and early Colt ar15s also used it.
If I'm not mistaken Armalite also used it in the AR18/S AR180, etc.
Plenty of those still out there.

Armalite used it but don’t know about how plentiful they are.

Well you damn sure can't outspell me.
Camp Perry 1000m High Power winner here, I have a solid gold distinguished shooter medal which is the only civilian medal allowed on a US military uniform (g'head and look it up).
I'm thinking my shooting is a tiny bit above average.
Dipshit up there thinks that you actually hit the match to ignite it.
WRONG.
You shoot just above the match (1/4 inch or so) and the air friction of the bullet passing ignites the match.
If you just graze the match it'll break and not ignite.
Yea, the things newbies don't know.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is among several civilian medals that can be worn on US military uniforms.

Solid ammo. I’ve been running this at 2gun matches for a couple of years in 3 ARs and a Galil. Same performance as Federal/American Eagle 55g 556. I’ve run 6k+ of this and it’s solid. The other comment about not being able to group and getting 10MOA is anecdotal nonsense. This stuff is good to go.

It's not anecdotal nonsense. It's a fact that happened. Would you like to see the targets? Also it was a question to figure out an issue. Why are you acting like it was an attack? Grow up and learn how to have an adult discussion. The irony is that "I’ve been running this at 2gun matches for a couple of years in 3 ARs and a Galil." is also anecdotal.

In 2 different gun's I couldn't get this to pattern worth snot. We're talking 10 moa. I was punching ragged holes with the 77gr imi though. Anyone else have this is issue? Both were 1-8 twist. 16in 223 wylde and 18 inch 556 chambered.

IMI has been good ammo out of everything I’ve run it in. Worst grouping I’ve had was 3-4 MOA out of a BCA 10.5” AR pistol. And that was probably mostly me having an astigmatism and using a red dot.

Most of my carbines and rifles have been a little over 2 MOA if I’m using proper optics and I do my part well. If you’re getting 10 MOA, there is something else going on. Maybe loose scope mounts, broken scope/optics/irons, loose handguard (with irons attached), or maybe shooter capabilities (not saying that’s the case, but it’s possible and I would be ignorant for not at least mentioning it). Lots of variables, but it shouldn’t be holding 10 MOA.

I understand the occam's razor argument. It's the most logical. But this is happening in 2 different gun's. 1 gun the handguard mind be contacting the gas block. But the other seems fine. But you're right. I should double check everything before blaming the ammo
