The bolt action Savage Axis XP II features a matte black carbon steel barrel measuring 22 inches and chambered in 7mm-08 REM. The low-profile AICS magazine holds four rounds which chamber feed smoothly as the bolt is retracted. The Axis XP II comes with an AccuTrigger system, which pulls smoothly and can be adjusted to an operator's pull-preference easily. Savage Arms has included one of the best optic systems available on the market today, the Bushnell 3-9x40mm scope, which is factory mounted and bore-sighted.
With a lightweight synthetic stock and aluminum chassis, the Savage Axis XP II weighs about 7.38 pounds with an overall length of 42.5 inches. It offers an excellent 1 in 9.25" twist in the barrel, allowing for a near-perfect shot in either long-distance competition shooting or a far-off downrange shot for that medium to large game.
