Other than brand name. Is this barrel the same as the BCM® Standard 16" Mid Length Barrel, Stripped ? https://bravocompanyusa.com/bcm-standard-16-mid-length-barrel-stripped/...

Test...
They say you can't hunt quail with a AR (this has that FN barrel) but what do they know.
Billet upper and lower, elf trigger, ice arms bolt, noisy ass surefire comp, yhm rail, weaver tactical 3-15x50 scope...etc etc
edit: yup, pics work
Another thing I noticed, the barrel offered above says nothing about being cold hammer forged, so I'll wager it isn't.
If it was chf it'd say so because only the better FN barrels are....and they cost double the posted price.

I picked up two. Nah, they’re not CHF - button rifled. Very good barrels, though.

FN America currently has 12 AR models listed. Only two have CHF barrels, the FN 15 Tactical ll, and the Tactical FDE carbine. 7 of the 12 models are LE restricted, and all seven have button rifled barrels. That shows me that FN is confident their button rifled barrels can compete well with anything in the LE arena. At $132, I think this is an unbeatable deal.

There is 5 separate models of CHF FN barrels.

FN America e-store list six current CHF AR15 Barrels, and nine button rifled barrels. https://fnestore.com/rifle-barrels...

It says "Button Rifled" in the title above, in the title on the item page at PA, and in the description on the manufacturers website. Same MPN on the three sites/pages. I'll also wager it isn't a CHF barrel. :)

I have done further research and found that it is U.S. sourced Chrome Moly Venadium material per Mil-B-11595E. "Each barrel is High Pressure Tested (HPT) and Magnetic Particle Inspected (MPI) and This grade (CMV) of steel is a Mil-Spec steel used in the USGI M16 family of rifles; it is stronger and will last longer than the typical barrels offered in the commercial market."
https://www.dsarms.com/p-17335-fn-america-ar15-barrel-556x45mm-16-mid-length-government-profile-chrome-lined.aspx...

That sounds like a good barrel. I just wish I could buy about 3-4 of them right now for $130. A out of stock BCM barrel with same/similar specs was $324

Heck yeah, Man. I think it's a dang good deal on a good barrel. I bet you'll be very pleased with it.

This one sells for $235 ($259 on other sites) regularly but apparently PA has gotten a boat load of them recently. They’ve had this “button” barrel @ $209, $199, and $189 in past few weeks/mth

Thanks. Not sure what barrel that is but the barrel on primary arms isn’t fluted I tried posting a pic but that didn’t work.

I ordered one, does anyone have this version and can comment on accuracy?

I've never seen a fluted FN barrel and the ad says nothing about it being fluted....but the pics are definitely of a fluted barrel?!?
I have a 14.7" FN chf chrome lined barrel on one of my AR's and can tell you without any hesitation...
It shoots LIGHTS OUT.
Easily 3/8" at 100 yards with Fiocchi 223A 55 grain fmj ammo....and yea it's cheap ammo but the barrel loves it. All shots will be touching in every group.
It *kinda* likes IMI 77 grain razor core and PMC Xtac match....but it loves the fiocchi.
At longer ranges (like 350 yards and out) it likes my handrolled Berger 80's in front of a hot load of IMR4227 and the Berger 90's in front of BLC-2.
G'luck ?

From what I've learned, or think I've learned, the barrel in the image above is indeed a fluted FN barrel that was advertised and sold by PA in 2020 as a "contract-overrun".
Here is part of the description that was on the item page at PA when it was available:
"FN America 16'' 5.56 mid-length hybrid profile (continuous taper) fluted cold hammer forged chrome lined MP/HP tested barrel"
Here is the old URL to the item page for the fluted contract-overrun barrel that now redirects to the Government barrel being advertised here at gun.deals:
https://www.primaryarms.com/fn-america-contract-overrun-556-cold-hammer-forged-mid-length-barrel-hybrid-fluted-16in...
On August 4 2020 Mrgunsngear posted about the fluted FN barrel on his FB page. He included the exact same image in his post as the one shown above. If you click this link to see his post and a FB login page pops-up blocking your view, just click the "Not Now" link at the bottom of the pop-up and it will go away:
https://www.facebook.com/148004891979252/posts/fn-america-16-556-mid-length-hybrid-profile-continuous-taper-fluted-cold-hammer-/3091198030993242/...
The image on this deal page does not depict the barrel being offered.

You are correct. The image above is not the same image as on the link to PA’s page for this product. No fluting. Also, the barrel profile in the image above looks to be either heavy or Hanson profile, not government / SOCOM profile. Go by what is on the vendors website, not what appears above.
