Screw this company. They are shady. VERY SHADY! They lost my business for life. I clicked their link to buy the wolf 223. Correct price showed up. Then I added a magazine. Went to cart and price was still the same. Then I went to add the credit card info and BAM- the price went up $20 wtf?? I called and the first rep said "we can absolutely make the price right, let me get you to customer service." The next rep agreed but had to check with some other dept and then they refused to honor THEIR price. Spread then word. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Incredibly bad deal. Sportsmans Guide continues to suck at life. 29.5 CPR + shipping and handling. Identical product here for 22.4 CPR + S&H (23.3 CPR to my door).

Only problems I have ever had running polymer coated steel cased ammo was in stainless C products magazine. removing the unfired rounds from the magazine by hand it felt like the feed lips were scratching off the polymer coating. I use it only in PMAGs now. and have never had any feed, extraction, or firing problem.
My RRA NM A2 got the best group of all my guns with steel cased tulammo (though I have never bought "Match" grade ammo).! I use it when I don;t want to pick up brass to reload

The steel case does not expand as quickly or nearly as much as a brass case. Thus, not really re loadable and may create a touch of blow back if the chamber is not rock solid tight. I have NEVER had a problem with steel case, ever. I would NOT re load it though, just my opinion. The bullet is the same diameter and will not damage the barrel. Maybe a little more crud from the cheap Russian powder and sealants but clean up like a good shooter and you will be o.k.
.
Answer, NO it will not tear the barrel up. Happy shooting. Yes this WAS 20 cents per round but brass WAS 30 cents per round. If you find either at the previous prices please note here. Current market prices this DOES seem like a FAIR price.... And only a fair price..........

(Disclaimer: I read all this on the internet.) It's not the case that is the problem so much as the bi-metal bullet that is often loaded with steel case. Bi-metal bullet defined as plating over a steel coating surrounding the bullet. The rifling will cut through the plating and the steel coating will be rubbing against your lands and grooves as the bullet travels down the barrel. Steel against steel will wear out your barrel faster. You can replace your barrel, so... How much faster? Is the increase in wear more than offset by the loser cost in ammo? That is the debate. For me personally I won't rule out shooting steel case ammo and bi-metal bullets.

Are these rounds safe to shoot through my S&W MP15? I thought steel tears the barrel up?

Didn't realize the douchebags would come out to explain the answer for me, thanks.

You're not shooting the casing through your barrel

Has anyone shot both polymer-coated and zinc-plated steel cased 223?
Which cycles better?

I run polymer with no issues. Lube up the bolt carrier well and clean the chamber and you should be good to go.

My RRA prefers Polymer (Few issues with Zinc), my Sig cycles both with no issues

If that helps
