I can't say I would trust this body armor. Why is it "special threat" when it only lists protection from pistol calibers? Special threat rating, as I understand it, means that it is between level III and IV, i.e., it protects from AR/AK rounds, but drops .308 protection. Special threat won't be NIJ (because it's not currently a NIJ cert), so if you go with any "special threat" plates, go with a reputable company, such as Hesco. You can get a set of L210s from T-Rex for $370 right now and they'll protect you from virtually any intermediate caliber that you will likely face. I can't trust a company that says "Special Threat," but doesn't list any rifle calibers on its threat rating. I realize that it lists 5.7, but it doesn't specify if it's from a rifle-length barrel or a pistol.
