This 22 WMR round offers conventional ballistics thanks to its 40 grain bullet loaded to a 1,875 fps muzzle velocity (out of a rifle). At 100 yards the bullet still flies at nearly 1,450 fps, giving it ample energy with which to knock a varmint’s socks off.
But this semi-jacketed soft point bullet is even more potent than its raw energy alone would dictate. The bullet’s jacket helps it to penetrate its target deeply as its exposed core brings about significant terminal expansion. This is a bullet that deforms wide to more effectively transfer its energy, and it cuts out a nasty wound channel as it does so.
This round is loaded with Aguila’s own impressive rimfire primer and clean burning propellant. As a nice extra touch Aguila plated its brass case in nickel, which serves to promote smoother feeding in a semi-automatic firearm. It resists corrosion than bare brass, too!
