They have it at my local walmart now $6.87. This is not military spec ammo. No annealing and a few rejects in the boxes I got. New boxing. Different primers than before?

Maybe not annealed or "milspec," but it's beautiful brass and goes bang for me. Good deal here. Better deal at Walmart :).

Maybe steel case stuff

I'd like to know where you're buying your federal 223 for $6 a box out the door?

I sure wish they were cheaper but I wouldn't want to skimp on any of their tactical abilities. I got paper to punch and cans to shred. If it ain't tactical, it ain't practical.

I am pretty sure most people would agree that as of December 2016, if most 223 brass not at or below .30pr shipped is not consider a deal

Would rather half Wolf Gold at $107 and change without the box for 300 rounds shipped. Do love Cabela's, though.

Cheaper elsewhere, and just 1 or 2 months ago Cabela's was selling these for $6.29. Wait for prices to fall on 5.56/223 and they will as people's stock pile is flush with this shit. Plus, why support Cabela's when they don't honor thei advertised prices.

Be aware of tarnished cases...

I ordered some of this recently and 100% of the rounds are highly tarnished and 40% of the cases had slight denting near the neck. What you will receive - I have no idea. What I received looks nothing like the shiny brass you see in their pictures - about 50% of the case is tarnished (not heat annealing). If the outside looks this bad - what was the quality control like?

Personally, I will not buy any more American Eagle XM193 - there are way too many brands out there for about the same CPR that look like the shiny brass advertized in the American Eagle pictures.

I agree with you I picked up two 20 round boxes and they are tarnished not colorful brass but hey as long as it goes bang and does it's job and doesn't jam I'm good to go .

They're not tarnished. They're just not polished. That's the way they're supposed to be.

this is Tactical AE223, not the same as XM193 556 you are complaining about

you can also use promo code rmn49 if you don't want to spend $100. it gives you $10 off and free shipping. awesome ammo. very accurate, reliable, and consistent.

Adrian, We get it!!!

Cabela's has a $20 off when you spend $100. Are you going to post the whole freaking store??? How many combinations of ammo boxes equals $100? I guess we're going to find out.

Terrible price from one of the price gouging leaders - Cabela's. The Fiocchi stuff listed above is a much better deal at 0.04/rnd cheaper. Lots of this type at wallyworld and a better deal without shipping. Better service too and helps the local economy at wallyworld...

Maybe Cabela's prices aren't great now... but I'd hardly call them the "price gouging leaders".

During a solid six-month stretch last year when 9mm and 22LR was nowhere to be found, I bought over 100,000 rounds for myself and my shooting buddies. 90% of that was bought at Cabela's because they were the only store in my area that had anything in these calibers.

Sold off the rest on Armslist for a 25% markup to cover my time and costs. I suppose that makes me a "gouger" too in your eyes.

The thing I can't believe is your comments about Walmart. Better service? Where the hell do you live? I have 15 Walmarts within an hour of my house and every single one is stocked full of the saddest, sorriest, most useless dregs of useless zombie-brained morons to ever operate a cash register. Every shopping trip ends with a half hour to an hour in line because they can't be bothered to open more than 3 of the 25 checkout lines at the front of the store. Plus... the ones they open are clear across the store from the one entrance that they left unlocked. I don't blame the employees much... they get minimum wage and Walmart actually instructs their employees on how to apply for government benefits like foodstamps during their orientation. If they've actually changed a few things with their new God Bless America commericals... then great, but I haven't seen any changes in my neighborhood.

Finally... HELP YOUR LOCAL ECONOMY BY SHOPPING AT WALMART??? Helping the local economy in China is more like it. Can't blame Walmart for that though. If there were more than a couple dozen Americans willing to pay 25% more for an American-made product then a lot more people would have jobs.

LOL - quite the rant! Another corporate troll -- which Cabela's store do you work at?

I was just relating my experiences with both Cabela's and Walmart.

My wife worked at several different Walmart stores in three states a few years back and they treated their employees like crap. Enough so that I feel bad giving them any of my business.

Looking at your anti-Cabela's trolling over the past half year, it looks like you feel that Cabela's has gone downhill after Dick Cabela passed the reins. Fair enough. We just got our store last year so I don't know what they were like before. However, I've been pretty pleased with what I've been able to get online. YMMV and apparently does.

30 years ago I remember Walmart prided itself on carrying American products but that changed when the kids took over the business. Their Chinese-sourced products and cut-throat tactics have done more to harm our economy than any other entity, in my opinion.

I DO sometimes feel like I work at Cabela's with the amount of time I've spent there picking up orders. LOL

Well, at least you admitted that you are a anti-Walmart troll if not a corporate Cabela's troll. IMO Wally at least provides more jobs to those without GEDs, college degrees, and the disabled than any other corp. in the world, including your ex-wife. Their business model may not be perfect either, but their prices also allow a lot of lower income folks to get by. They also didn't engage in price gouging during the worst of the ammo shortage unlike your Cabela's and CTD, etc. continue to do. Speaking of Chinese and other Communist manfu. products, you must not buy anything from Cabela's but ammo -- LOL!

Of course Walmart provides jobs to the uneducated and disabled, those poor bastards have to take whatever non-living wage they can get. The lower prices come at the expense of their workers and the jobs of other American workers. If they paid their workers more then those employees would be able to afford items that were made in places other than China on the backs of other poor bastards that are getting paid even less of a living wage.

I've watched Walmart move into places I've lived and lower their prices purposely to undercut their competitors. That store operates at a loss until they've put their competition out of business... then raise their prices the day after the competitors store closes. They put Main Street America out of business and plenty of larger local corporations that just can't match the juggernaut that is Walmart.

My home town gave Walmart a 10 year tax abatement when they moved into town. Walmart showed their appreciation by closing that store in 10 years and moving right outside the city limits so they wouldn't have to pay the higher property tax.

If Walmart is changing now, it is because the Chinese are beginning to refuse to work for nothing and want some of those things they are producing. With the rise of the Chinese middle class and the increased cost of shipping, their reduced profit margins now allow them to start sourcing product from the U.S.. Now that we've had a recession and American workers are willing to work for less that is.

Call me a troll if you like. I'm certainly anti-Walmart. My wife worked there because there weren't any other jobs left in our town unless you wanted to make french fries. I'll step off my soapbox now. :)

Yeah... ammo is pretty much it. Although these days you wouldn't have much to buy if you only bought American. Even the damn flags are made in China.

I would have taken your rant against the likes of Wallymart more seriously if it weren't for your arrogant condescension toward those who find themselves in a lower income bracket or who are mentally or physically disabled through no fault of their own. I doubt many disabled Veterans appreciate being called "bastards" for their service either. Finally, your selective outrage (hypocrisy) in buying "China", and how corporations work due to your messiah Obama's tax & regulatory tyranny are also sad commentary. In spite of that, our condolences go out to you on the loss of your boss Dick Cabela.

Wow... that's certainly a selective interpretation. I wasn't condescending to anyone. "Poor bastard" wasn't an insult... it was commiseration for the sad situation of anyone that has to take a job at Walmart.

As for the rest... WTF? It's like watching the monkeys at the zoo. You're a cute little furry f**ker even though you keep throwing poo. Time to visit the next cage in the troll parade.

By the contents of your latest rant, it looks like you are choking on a lot of that "poo". Do us all a favor and troll back over to MAIG, NAMBLA, or wherever you crawled in from...

The nicer walmarts are at $10.47 in Dallas. But I found the exact same stuff for $7.47 a box at a not so nice walmart.

I found this for $7.47 at my Walmart (only one in town) about 2 months ago. Once they sold through that it's been $10.47 as well.

Your China-Mart actually has ammo?

Wal marts here in AZ are completely stocked with ammo. Only 22lr still hard to come by.

This is 10.49 per box at the 3 close to me.

This is the only cheap .223 ammo cabelas has. Was in store friday and they easily had 100,000 rounds of various .223 & 5.56 on the shelves and all the others were 10.99+ per box.

They have herters steel for 5.99.

Cabelas & Wal Mart are hanging the prices up right now. The website ammo stores aren't going to drop their prices or shipping until the big 2 do it.

I am not aware of any Federal branded .223 that had steel case or core. .556. and eastern European ammo are a different story.

Anyone know if this has steel in the jacket or core? Our range doesn't permit anything ferrous/magnetic.

Shipping to SoFla kills the deal for me, otherwise not a bad deal considering what's out there. Usually a 5-6.99 price.

Screw the shipping cost....
The price of the ammo itself (even if it had free shipping) is what kills it for me..
